Southern Pines Christmas Tree Farm LLC | Application Preview
Southern Pines Christmas Tree Farm LLC is seeking government grants to fund the purchase of essential equipment, including a tractor, as well as materials for land preparation, such as soil, drainage solutions, herbicides, and fertilizers. The farm plans to start planting its first acre of trees in spring 2023, with a goal of adding an acre each year for the next six years. By 2028, the farm aims to have around 1,400 trees available for sale each year.
The funding is crucial since the business will not generate revenue until 2028. The owners will bear all initial costs and efforts to establish the farm and are dedicated to creating a business that enhances the community's value. They intend to promote sustainable practices by offering a natural alternative to artificial trees, helping to reduce environmental pollution associated with synthetic tree manufacturing.
Southern Pines faces competition from nearby tree farms but holds a competitive edge through its collaboration with the LSU Agricultural Center and advice from a local arborist. This partnership aims to ensure the cultivation of diverse tree species suited to the local climate. The farm strives to meet rising market demand by offering a variety of indigenous and unique Christmas trees in a location that's easily accessible for families in the community.

Business Plan
We will begin planting the first acre of trees in spring of 2023 and will plant an additional acre for each of the next six years so that we will have a proper rotation of trees to harvest every year starting in 2028. Each year starting in 2028, we should have around 1400 trees to sell. Since we will not be seeing a dollar of revenue until 2028, we will be responsible for all expenses/losses associated with starting this farm and operating it for the next 6 years at least. It is important for us to create a business that will add value to our community and hopefully coming to our farm every year will be a tradition for many families in the future. We want to help offset the chemicals and pollution involved with manufacturing and disposal of fake trees and take pride in operating a business that benefits the environment as well as our community.

Country Pines Christmas Tree Farm Steele's Christmas Tree Farm Brushy Branch Christmas Tree Farm We are currently working with LSU Agricultural Center and being advised by a local licensed arborist to ensure that we can provide the best variety of trees that can survive in our hardiness zone and prepare our soil as necessary. Most local farms only grow one or two species of trees; and while these other tree farms are only an hour drive from our location, we can meet the growing market demand in our community by being located right outside city limits. We will provide various indigenous and "exotic" Christmas trees in a convenient location for our future customers.
