JMo's Cadenza School Of Music LLC 03568655003-GRT | Government Grant Application

JMo's Cadenza School Of Music LLC | Application Preview

JMo's Cadenza School Of Music LLC is seeking government grants to enhance their music education offerings in West Albuquerque. The funding will be allocated for purchasing new musical instruments to broaden class offerings beyond guitar and piano, a dedicated advertising budget to increase outreach, and updates to their physical space to better accommodate classes.

Their business plan includes several key steps: increasing public outreach through flyers and partnerships with local schools and businesses, updating their facility to handle larger and multiple classes, and expanding their music course selections to attract more students.

The school aims to fill a critical gap in the local music education landscape, especially since many schools have reduced music programs. By providing a family-friendly, safe environment, they hope to support the growing community on the west side of Albuquerque where options for music education are limited. Currently, their competition is minimal, with most music classes offered further away.

Their competitive advantage lies in the strong sense of community they cultivate, offering families more than just music lessons. They organize regular community events, which foster relationships among students and families, encouraging them to return not only for classes but also for the vibrant community atmosphere.

  • Funding Usage

We are looking to purchase more musical equipment so we can expand and offer more classes. We would also like to have a small budget for doing more advertising. Lastly, we are hoping to update our current space so we can accommodate our classes better.

  • Business Plan

Step 1: We are working on more public outreach and advertising. We hope to get into the local schools through flyers, and in person, to reach out to students. We are working on creating partnerships with local businesses to allow our students to perform and get our school more exposure. Step 2: We are looking to update and possibly expand our current space so that we can accommodate larger classes and even multiple classes at a time. Step 3: We are looking to purchase more musical equipment so we can offer a larger variety of music. Currently we only offer guitar and piano but would like to expand our offerings to reach more students. We are working to fill the void that is in our part of the community. Schools are not providing the music education that they once did. We hope to be able to provide that service to our exploding population on the West side of Albuquerque. Most music institutions are located on the east side of town and there are not many options for people on the westside. On top of providing quality music education, we offer a family friendly and safe space for our students. Our goal is to help kids build confidence, and joy while learning how to play music.

  • Self Identified Competition

We don't have many competitors on the west side of Albuquerque. Most families have to travel downtown, to the eastside or to Rio Rancho to get their music classes. The only business that has come up as a competitor is Music on the Westside. They have a similar business plan as ours, but are located deep in Rio Rancho and are not very convenient for the booming west side population. Our business is a family business and we work hard on building community within our business. Unlike most places where you only go in for your music class once a week or so, we have so many opportunities for our students and families to build community. We do "Cadenza Fun Days" once every 3 months where we bring all families together and have fun activities. We have done things like "restaurant takeovers", "water wars", Karaoke nights etc. We put a large emphasis on building community and developing friendships between our students and families. Most people who come to our school, have come for that reason and are continuing to come back for that community along with our music classes.
