MSFT LLC | Application Preview
MSFT LLC is seeking government grants to support its mission-driven clothing line aimed at promoting body inclusivity. The proposed funding will be allocated as follows:
- **Manufacturing Costs**: Approximately $20,000 for bulk orders of four designs in various sizes, with additional costs ranging between $3,000 and $4,000.
- **Equipment**: An outlay of around $8,000 for essential technology, including a high-capacity computer, printer, and direct-to-garment transfer printer to maintain efficiency in the early years.
- **Marketing**: About $15,000 is earmarked for hiring models, photographers, and videographers to visually represent the brand’s inclusive ethos.
- **E-commerce Tools**: Remaining funds will be directed toward web development, point-of-sale systems, and other necessary tools for online sales.
The business aims to create a clothing line that caters to all body types, emphasizing the importance of comfortable and flattering designs. Unique marketing strategies include featuring non-professional models to reflect a broader range of body types, aligning with the brand's inclusive philosophy.
The applicant shares a personal story of resilience and determination, expressing a commitment to entrepreneurship despite challenges including managing a full-time job and family responsibilities. The proposal highlights a lack of local competition in the body-positive space, with only one small competitor, GRRRL, and a clear distinction from larger brands like Alphalete and Gymshark, which the applicant views as lacking in thoughtful design for diverse body types.
MSFT LLC positions itself as a female-owned business, seeking to differentiate itself by prioritizing functional and stylish designs over traditional trends. The unique perspective brings a competitive edge in the market, as the founder aims to create products that are practical yet appealing, offering a fresh approach to activewear.

Funding Usage
Manufacturing: 3-4 thousand for bulk order of one item in varying sizes. It’s about 20,000 for 4 designs in all the sizes and amounts needed. Equipment: computer and printer that can handle the work load. Estimated around 3000. Other equipment includes Direct to garment transfer printer. It’s more cost effective to do the work on my own for the first couple of years. 5000. Marketing: models, photographers and videographers. A bit of the cost is here at about 15,000. The remaining amount would be for a web builder, pos systems and other tools needed to run an e-commerce.

Business Plan
I plan on marketing my company with the mission to be Body Inclusive. Which means it’s for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re fit or if you have a mom body, having clothes that work with your body matters. So I think my mission, my durable and thoughtful designs will help continue to grow the business. I also plan on using normal people for models and I think that says so much right now I’m sure plenty of people come here with very sad beginnings or presents. Mine is more simple. I woke up one day and realized that other people wake up one morning and decided to start a business. And that’s what I did. I woke up one day after having a pretty rough year and decided I was going to do this. Who cares if I work a full time job, I’m a mom and a wife of a man who is physically limited at times because of his health. I’m going to do it. I mean, I would love the help. I would be incredibly thankful for the help, but I’ll do it one way or another.

Self Identified Competition
I don’t have any competitors in the state, but the only other E-commerce that is truly body positive is GRRRL and they are tiny in the market (in my opinion it’s due to a lack thoughtful designs.) I don’t see my brand being in the same category as Alphalete or Gymshark, because they all sell the same things and they are overpriced and not body inclusive I’m a female owned business. Both Alphalete and Gymshark (the giants in the gym attire works) have been started by men. That’s why the leggings all look the same- they are designed for the female gaze. My leggings are designed to work and do their job. Yes, I want people to feel good in them but they need to be more than jelly bean colored eye candy.
