djp enterprise llc operating as Bean's Boards | Application Preview
DJP Enterprise LLC, operating as Bean's Boards, is seeking government grants to support its growth and establish its charcuterie catering service. The funds will be used for essential materials needed to pass the Department of Agriculture's food license inspection, setting up a professional website, and acquiring shop supplies like paint, customer consultation tables, and packaging materials.
The business owner, who transitioned from a career as a trauma nurse, emphasizes a personal journey marked by trauma and loss, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. After experiencing a miscarriage and subsequent complications during childbirth, the owner decided to leave the nursing profession. This shift arose from a desire for a more fulfilling and safer work environment, leading to the creation of Bean's Boards after positive encouragement from friends and family. The business quickly gained traction, driven by a unique offering in the local market and a passion for bringing joy to people's gatherings through food.
The owner acknowledges the presence of other catering services in the area but highlights the unique position of Bean's Boards as the first charcuterie catering service. The focus on aesthetic presentation and delicious flavors sets it apart, appealing to a wide range of customers. The owner respectfully requests funding approval to help turn this venture into a thriving business that not only supports the community but also brings personal fulfillment.

Funding Usage
I will be funding the commercial materials I need to pass the department of agriculture's food license inspection (prep tables, knives, sanitation, etc) I would be able to get my website up and running. (I am not tech savvy enough to do it myself) I would buy materials for my shop such as paint, tables for customers to do their wedding/event consults, boxes, wrapping and other manufacturing materials, etc.

Business Plan
I plan to get the final touches to be up and fully running hopefully with help of grants and then expand to other areas of the state. I come from a very small town in central Pennsylvania called Altoona. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic I was a trauma nurse. During that time, I had a horrific miscarriage where I almost died, then got pregnant immediately after and had to work in the ridiculous and absolutely unsafe conditions that our hospitals officials put us in. I had my son in June of 2020, not without complications and chose to go back to work in the heat of the pandemic. The things I experienced as a nurse and the amount of people I personally watched die for no good reasons, I could not bring myself to continue working in that profession. I decided to stay home with my son and try to find another source of income. I had been making charcuterie boards for family and friends, and they all convinced me to start a business with it. I never thought in a million years it would work, but there was nothing like that in our area and once I announced it-the demand was huge! I love to work with people, and I love to make them happy, and being Italian our culture believes that good food will bring people together. I am completely new at owning my own business and due to trying a few other outlets before this one, I don't have a lot of funds to get the material I need to be up and officially running. I took a leap of faith after dedicating all of my heart and soul to saving lives for over a decade of my life to completely start over and do something that will not only make others happy for their special events, but finally make me happy at the end of the day. I would really appreciate your consideration for my business with this grant.
