Inner Peace Counseling & Wellness | Application Preview
Inner Peace Counseling & Wellness is seeking government grants to support its expansion and cover recent expenses, including credit card debt from prior growth efforts. The founders, Danielle and her partner, aspire to fully realize the potential of their business. Danielle, highly educated and passionate about mental health, aims to create a transformative experience for her clients.
Danielle, age 52, has spent years as a Clinical Supervisor, always dreaming of running her own counseling and wellness spa. The challenges posed by COVID-19 and personal health issues, including a recent early-detected colon cancer diagnosis believed to be stress-related, have hindered her progress toward this goal. Her health struggles have been a wake-up call, and her recent return to work underscores her dissatisfaction with her current job, which she finds draining.
While Inner Peace faces competition from Directions For Living, the founders prioritize their unique mission over rivalry. Danielle's team has expressed deep admiration for her leadership through letters of recommendation for HRSA student loan forgiveness. Although Directions For Living provides Danielle with financial security, she envisions a more fulfilling future through her own practice, currently limited by scheduling constraints.
Inner Peace stands out through its focus on Resolution Focused Therapy. While Directions For Living leans toward medical and substance abuse treatment, Inner Peace emphasizes emotional exploration and equipping clients with practical tools for everyday life. This distinctive approach highlights the business's commitment to addressing clients' needs in a supportive, solution-oriented manner. Approval of the funding would enable Inner Peace to better serve the community and facilitate Danielle’s dream of a thriving counseling practice.

Business Plan
Danielle and I want to take Inner Peace as far as possible. Her education level and passion, as well as personal experience..make her sessions life changing for everyone she talks to. Danielle is 52 and has been tied to her career as a Clinical Supervisor for years. She started her mental health education journey with the hopes of one day being able to run her own Counseling and Wellness spa. Since covid and many other factors inhibit her to pursue this dream, I fear she will stay tied to a job that she not only isn’t as passionate for, but that is draining her. Physically and spiritually. Danielle recently got diagnosed with colon cancer. Thank goodness they caught it early and were able to successfully remove it. The doctors told her, with not much history in her family, and how her tests looked, they believed it to be stress related. She has been back to work for 2 days now and looks miserable.

Self Identified Competition
Directions For Living. We aren’t in this for competition though. Danielles talents are incredible as a supervisor, and her staff adore her. They recently wrote her incredible letters of recommendations for a HRSA student loan forgiveness, and the way her team talks about her, as well as her bosses. The problem is, Directions for Living pays her salary. A safety net to provide for her family. Something that she is able to do on her own by expanding her own practice and having the ability to book appointments between 8 am and 6 pm. Currently - Inner Peace is not taking appointments during those times. Inner Peace is different because we are focused on the solution through something we call, Resolution Focused Therapy. Directions for Living is more based towards medicinal and substance abuse. There is nothing wrong with that, she refers her own low income clients (some not low income) to Directions, but, Inner Peace ( Danielle ) is more about talking it out, hashing out the emotions, and dealing with whatever it is, and then providing the client the tools to implement them into their daily lives.
