Emerald Eden Charters, LLC | Application Preview
Emerald Eden Charters, LLC is seeking government grants to support its startup phase, specifically for a down payment on a pontoon boat, upfront dock fees, and to maintain liquidity for unexpected operational costs. The business plan outlines a clear growth trajectory: in the first year, they will operate a single pontoon boat for charters. Profits from this initial venture will be reinvested to pay off the boat and fund a down payment for a second one. By the second year, they aim to add a second pontoon to their fleet, continuing this pattern over the next two years while enhancing their brand presence. By year five, the plan includes expanding into fishing charters with a center console boat.
The founder emphasizes a strong connection to the local area, citing a deep understanding of the local economy and market gaps that the business can fill. The need for charter services is highlighted, especially among customers who prefer a hassle-free experience without the responsibilities of operating a boat themselves. While competition exists from pontoon and jet ski rental companies, the unique offering of chartered pontoon services positions Emerald Eden Charters to succeed by catering to the desires of local customers.

Business Plan
Year one we plan on running charters with one pontoon boat, Profits from year one will pay off first boat and get a down payment on second boat. Year 2 will be running to pontoons for the charter and pay off second boat. next two years will continue growing the brand and overhead. Year 5 we will be investing into a center console fishing boat and start fishing charters while continuing the pontoon charter. I was born and raised in the area we will be operating the charter in and know the area and economy well. We have seen the gap in the market where our business will fit in perfectly and grow into a successful business. I am very motivated and excited for the opportunity to work for my self and have a brand the community can be proud of.

Self Identified Competition
Main competitors are the pontoon rental companies. The area is saturated in pontoon and jet ski rentals. There is a big market for a charter pontoon. Many customers want to go out on the water and spend the day there but do not know how to operate a boat or do not want the responsibility of operating a boat. As a boat captain knowing the area and chartering the customer is something that is sought after in my local area.
