Playing Fur Keeps LLC 802103146 | Government Grant Application

Playing Fur Keeps LLC | Application Preview

Playing Fur Keeps LLC is seeking government grants to acquire land and establish a training and boarding facility. The business has experienced revenue growth from approximately $13,260 in 2021 to over $21,100 in 2022. However, the owner believes this growth is limited without a dedicated facility. With the new facility, they anticipate generating over $70,000 in its first year, with $76,140 projected from just six kennels alone. There is also expectation of a 50% increase in training revenue due to improved logistics and the ability to conduct year-round group classes.

The grant application also includes a personal story illustrating the owner’s resilience. Having faced significant hardship from a young age, including struggles with identity and addiction, the owner emphasizes their determination to succeed. They credit their recovery and the establishment of the business to their personal journey of overcoming adversity.

In terms of competition, the business faces established pet service providers, but the owner believes that their lack of facilities is the main competitive advantage for Playing Fur Keeps. The owner’s unique ability to bond with dogs and a strong reputation for providing effective, compassionate training are highlighted as key differentiators. With glowing client testimonials and a perfect record of positive reviews over six years, the owner expresses confidence that, with the right support, they could become a leading competitor in the market.

  • Business Plan

From 2021-2022, total revenue grew from $13,260.47 to $21, 100.87. While that is great growth, I fear without a facilty, that amount is capped. A training and boarding facility would bring a growth of over $70,000 in 1 year. 6 kennels alone, could bring in as much as $76,140 in one year. I would also expect training revenue to increase by 50%, with the ability to run group classes year round and the ability to offer more sessions per day without all of the drive time. Nothing in my life has come easy for me. At the age of 3, my Dad gave up custody of me. I was adopted and raised by my mother's 3rd husband (of 5). I believed this man to be my father, until the age of 13 when my brother screamed "he's not even your real dad" during an argument. On top of this trauma, I was living a lie. I knew that I was gay from a young age, but I hid it, in terror. I was told my entire childhood that gay people were sinners, deemed to burn in hell. My fear was validated when my mother found out and told me how much I disgusted her. My adopted dad still does not speak to me. By 14, I was addicted to hard drugs, as they were the only support I had. You may be wondering what the point is here, or thinking that this is the most unprofessional response you have ever recieved. The moral of this story, is to show you that I am a fighter. I am as resilient as they come. I have not touched a hard drug in over 15 years. I had nothing, and no one, yet I rose from the ashes and started a successful business. With your help, my life would be changed. Frankly, I deserve that! I deserve for someone to take a chance on me, just once. I deserve to have some one to finally have the faith in me, that I hold for myself.

  • Self Identified Competition

Whisker's pet resort and spa A Pleasant Dog Kim's K9 I believe wholeheartedly, the only reason these businesses are competitors, is the fact they have facilities. My reputation is untarnished, while theirs all holds stains. My natural ability to bond and comunicate with dogs. I have been told countless times by clients that they have never witnessed such a thing, first hand. My passion also holds me above the rest. Reabilitating rescue dogs in my biggest passion, and what brought me to this career. My mission has always been to offer effective and affordable training to my community, in order to keep dogs (and their handlers) from the trauma of rehoming. People see that passion. This is one review, out of over 6 years of 100% positive reviews. "Casey saved my pup! We adopted him from a rescue and he was a handful to say the least. She made room for us on her schedule and came as soon as she could. after just 1 lesson Cooper was already starting to change. i always knew he was a good boy we all just needed a little help. I will recommend playing fur keeps to anyone in need of dog training. she does AMAZING things!" Not one of my competitors can say that they have never had a bad review. Not one of my competitors builds the bonds with their clients, that I do. Please do go read my reviews at facebook.com/playingfurkeeps, as well as Playing Fur Keeps google business profile. You will see the difference I make in people's lives and how deeply my clients adore me. If I had a facility, I would be the biggest competitor.
