  • Funding Usage

We plan to use the funding to improve our existing programs and better serve the community. We just opened our childcare program in November 2022, and the community need for this program is great. However, we can only charge so much for families in need of childcare services. To have grant assistance for this program would help us tremendously to maintain stability and provide quality services for our families. Specifically, we've incorporated Teaching Strategies, which is an online teaching tool as well as a way to include families in learning, and this is a yearly expense we have taken on to establish an exceptional program for families. In addition, we're working on a preschool playground, and commercial equipment is very costly. In regard to our music programming, this is also a community need, but with operating costs on the rise, we are having more and more difficulty providing this need to the community and students at a reasonable price. We seek to enrich the local community through these services -- which include facilitating free performances for students at local venues -- and financial assistance would help us to achieve this objective.

  • Business Plan

We have 250 active students in our music academy and approximately 10 families served in our new preschool program. We intend to continue to grow our music academy as well as our newest preschool program. In the next five years, we'd like to double the amount of music academy students, provide formal and informal means of showcasing skills learned, and establish other classes, camps, and learning opportunities for students of all ages and abilities. We pride ourselves on being able to accept ANY student of any age and ability -- including special needs students. It's important that we have instructors available that are able to provide quality education to any student, regardless of background. In regard to the preschool program, we'd like to grow into two groups of children with full-time care. We'd like the first group to be preschool ages and the second group to be infant/toddler ages. We have the space to house these two groupings of children and would love to see it grow to the point where we need more space! Our goal is to have, at any given time, 20 preschool-aged children in our care, and 9 infant/toddler-aged children in our care. In addition, we want to see this childcare program grow into one that is strong in the arts, but also provides a dynamic and creative and well-rounded curriculum for all of the children. Investors should invest in us because we are the best at what we do and we are detail-oriented, passionate, and motivated to continue to make progress. We will not sit idle -- we are active in making improvements and continuing to provide the highest quality services possible. We recruit the most creative, passionate, and innovative educators, and work collaboratively with them to achieve our overall purpose -- which is to establish an exceptional and unique education program for people of all ages and all abilities. We seek to use all of the best tools, including technology, in order to achieve our objectives, and we continue to learn and improve upon our methods. Since we have opened in 2019, despite the pandemic, we have grown our student-base and continued to make improvements. While the pandemic, inflation, and other challenges have presented themselves, we have maintained our business in a high-income area for almost 4 full years. It is not easy to establish and maintain a business on Cape Cod, much less one based in the arts, and it's even less easy to maintain one through a pandemic. And yet, we've done so, without much -- if any -- financial assistance.

  • Self Identified Competition

Our top 3 competitors are: Cape Cod Symphony Scotty's Music School Mashpee Public Schools (preschool) We are different because of many factors. First, we are located in Mashpee Commons, which is a highly sought-after area on Cape Cod. We have a beautiful facility with many music studios for lessons -- most include windows, sinks, and fine art. Our preschool program is housed in a portion of our facility that has been recently renovated; it is beautiful and bright. Our competitors are not located in this ideal type of location. Beyond that, we accept music students of all abilities. For example, we've received students who went to Cape Cod Symphony for lessons, and they were either asked to leave or not accepted as a student at all. We differentiate learning for each individual student based on their needs, learning style, and musical interests. Right now, we have students with Down syndrome, autism, and other learning processing disorders. In regard to our preschool, we're different because we cannot be categorized. We are Montessori-inspired, Waldorf-inspired, but have our own unique flair -- which also includes the arts as well as yoga and mindfulness. Our Lead Preschool Teacher is a licensed French and art teacher, and she is also certified yoga instructor with many years of experience. We seek to provide a program that includes all of her unique skills and also incorporates music from the variety of professionals in our facility.
