Stony Creek Healing Arts 802560694 | Government Grant Application

Stony Creek Healing Arts | Application Preview

Stony Creek Healing Arts is applying for government grants to enhance accessibility for clients. The proposed funding will be used to construct a walkway from the driveway to the backyard deck, install a ramp leading onto the deck, possibly create a ramp for entry through the sliding glass door, and potentially replace the sliding door if it does not meet width requirements. Additional improvements may include widening the bathroom door and adding rails.

The business is a solo massage practice focused on building community connections for client referrals. The owner, a widow, seeks to earn a sustainable income without the ambition to expand into a larger practice.

The application emphasizes the desire to make a meaningful impact on clients dealing with stress, grief, and various life challenges. The owner aims to provide compassionate support to those in need.

In terms of competition, Stony Creek Healing Arts faces physical therapy offices, chiropractors, and membership-based massage businesses. The owner believes their unique qualifications as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and Massage Therapist, along with skills in energy balancing and Reiki, set them apart. The owner feels overqualified for typical practices and has struggled to find a suitable fit, prompting the move to establish a home-based practice. Ultimately, the motivation stems from a genuine wish to help others while earning a livelihood.

Walkway from driveway to backyard deck Ramp onto deck (2 steps up on to deck) Possible 'ramp' into house over sliding glass door threshold Possible replacement of sliding door (if not wide enough according to code) Likely widening bathroom door (and rails, possibly?) Funding requested is an absolute guess as I don't know how much the above issues would cost.

  • Business Plan

I am a one-person massage practice. I am in the throes of creating community connections for client referrals. Further, my skillset allows me to provide services for a person virtually or at their home. As a widow, I am simply seeking to earn a viable income; so I am not looking to grow my business into a large practice. It sounds syrupy, but I simply want to make a difference in my corner of the world with the people who come to me for care. These are people who are stressed beyond their limits, people going through loss, grief, transitions, and a host of overwhelming life 'stuff'. I simply wish to provide support to those who are in need.

  • Self Identified Competition

Physical Therapy offices Chiropractors 'Membership' Massage businesses I am a dually Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and Massage Therapist, I also do energy balancing, Reiki, and spiritual healing. To be perfectly honest and with humility, I am way overqualified to work in the offices of my above-mentioned 'competitors'. What I do and the relief I can provide for a person is so multi-faceted that I don't fit well in a traditional massage or bodywork practice. Because of this very issue, this is the exact reason why I have had to try and create my own practice out of my home...I don't fit anywhere else. I'm simply a widow who wants to make a living.
