Fluid Art 230 Riviera Dr | Government Grant Application

Fluid Art | Application Preview

Fluid Art is seeking government grants to support the establishment of a new art studio and retail store focused on fluid art painting. The founder has found immense joy in this accessible painting style, which allows individuals of all ages and abilities to create beautiful artwork without needing prior artistic skill. The studio, currently in a spare bedroom, has been a space for teaching fluid art to diverse participants, including those with disabilities and mental health challenges.

The business plan includes opening a storefront that will showcase local artists and offer a variety of art supplies. The store will feature a dedicated studio space for classes ranging from beginner to advanced levels, introducing new artistic techniques such as resin and beach landscapes. This approach aims to attract both local customers and tourists, capitalizing on Corpus Christi's growing visitor numbers.

The proposed store offers a welcoming environment where people can enjoy the creative process and form a sense of community. By promoting fun and inclusivity, the studio hopes to encourage repeat business, with customers returning to share the experience with friends and family. Additionally, the shop plans to engage patrons with art supplies for home projects and promote classes designed to enhance their skills.

Fluid Art's unique selling point lies in its emphasis on relaxation and inclusivity. Unlike traditional art studios that may feel intimidating, this space welcomes everyone, regardless of their artistic background. With the potential to become a profitable venture, the founder believes that the positive impact on participants and the community makes this project deserving of funding support.

  • Funding Usage

I love art, crafts, and teaching. I recently learned a new style of painting called “fluid art” and it has changed my life and those around me. This new style of painting is easy to learn and people of all ages are able to create beautiful artwork they can take home, hang on the wall and be proud of. I created a small art studio in a spare bedroom in my home where I have been creating, and teaching people of all ages this new style of painting. People of all ages, mental capacity, and those with disabilities have fun learning. No artistic ability is required and that is why I have found fluid art to be so wonderful. Everyone can leave the class with a beautiful piece of artwork they can take home, hang on the wall and be proud of. One individual suffering from depression said it was the first time she smiled in months! Special needs children can participate and find the class to be fun and engaging. I find it to be relaxing and motivating. Life has been very stressful, and this newfound passion relieves the stress from my life. I see the potential for my hobby becoming a profitable business. I would like to open a store in town. The front of the store will showcase local artists and artwork. The store would sell retail art/craft supplies too. The back would be a studio where art classes could be held, and artwork created. The store will be inviting, relaxing and inspire creativity.

  • Business Plan

We plan on to build a retail art store, in the front. Where local artists can show and sell their artwork. We will also, sell art supplies retail. In the back we would have the studio where classes can be taught and artwork created. The classes will be tiered based ranging from begginer to advanced and new styles can be offered as well. such as resin, and beach scenes. We will have risidual customers and Corpus Christi has a plethora of tourism which is increasing each year. We will put focus on cutting edge art trends and techniques to remain fresh and exciting to the public. Marketing will be a way for us to continue to expand and increase our customer base. Our fluid art idea is easy, fun, and everyone will be able to create a beautiful piece of artwork they can take home and be proud of. The customers will want to return with more friends and family to share the unique experience with. Also, customers will want to buy art supplies from our store so they can create fluid art at home. Customers will want to take our resin and beach scene classes. Also, customers will appreciate our relaxed, and welcoming atmosphere and buy the art show cased from local artists.

  • Self Identified Competition

Michael's is a craft store where art and craft supplies can be purchased. Picasso's is a byob art studio where people are able to drink and learn to paint. The Art studio of Corpus Christi. The other painting studios rely on traditional painting which takes a certain amount of artistic ability. The atmosphere at these studios are often pretentious and uninviting. The fluid art concept we are offering requires no artistic ability, it is fun, relaxed and inviting to people of all ages mental capacity and those with disabilities. The fluid art is known to be inclusive for all people and even therapeutic.
