Southern Wisconsin organics llc 85-0868077 | Government Grant Application

Southern Wisconsin organics llc | Application Preview

Southern Wisconsin Organics LLC is seeking government grant funding to enhance food security and educate future generations about food production. The funding will be used to establish critical infrastructure, including wash and pack areas, a commercial kitchen, a farm store, an expanded mycology lab, and upgrades to poultry, water, and electrical systems.

The business plan focuses on building a new on-farm store and integrating operations with upgraded facilities to produce value-added products that meet community needs. The addition of greenhouses will extend the growing season, and the business aims to acquire more land to support ongoing growth. With these improvements, they hope to address infrastructure challenges that hinder their production efforts.

The rationale for funding approval emphasizes the company’s commitment to providing healthy, chemical-free food and fostering food security in the community. The owner has invested personal resources and effort into the business and is dedicated to supporting the local population, helping to alleviate food shortages, create local jobs, and educate families about sustainable practices.

In terms of competition, the business acknowledges local grocery stores and CSA farms but stresses a collaborative approach, sharing resources and bolstering community ties. Their competitive advantage lies in a mission-driven focus on stewardship of the land and producing high-quality products while actively engaging with families and youth to promote sustainable practices and support those in need through food donations.

  • Business Plan

We are looking to build a new on farm store and vertically integrate our farm with a new wash and pack area and commercial kitchen. With these upgrades we will be able to create new value added products to help better serve our community's needs, we are adding green houses to extend our season and adding more rented or leased land as needed . We are continuing to grow more food every season and have issues with infrastructure so continuing to update and add new structures to grow. We have a mission to help feed our community and to give our community food security and healthy chemical free food that will help cultivate a brighter future for all involved. We would love to continue to serve our community with a bit less of a financial struggle , I managed to start this business with my capital and hard work and have dedicate myself to continue to help others through my farm. I believe with these funds I will be able to expand my business and ensure financial security for my company/growing family for years to come. And truly be able to make a much larger impact on our growing food shortages and supply issues . As well I will be able to create many jobs locally as vegetable production is extremely labor intensive. As well as feed many more family's and educate them along the way.

  • Self Identified Competition

My top three competitors are other local groceries stores and csa farms but we tend to work together to strengthen our community , by giving advise, borrowing equipment or supplys, and selling each others products. I believe my mission is to help my community and I have good intentions to do so, I think we differ by being good stewards of the land and growing to give our customers the best product posible instead of highest yield possible. We are working with families and youth to help educate and inspire others to use good practices and to grow there own food or the know how to do so. Also we work hard to donate any extra posible to the needy or homeless in our area.
