Yellow Orchid Artisans Group | Application Preview
Yellow Orchid Artisans Group is seeking government grants to support their business operations. The funding will be allocated for renting a small building, obtaining necessary licenses, managing general expenses, purchasing supplies, marketing, acquiring a small delivery vehicle, covering shipping costs, and creating a website. They aim to develop new products, including bath bombs and spa-like scrubs.
The business plan includes extensive advertising, promotional items, and sales events that benefit non-profits. The owner plans to design business cards, hire a sales representative for local store outreach, and secure essential services like insurance, legal assistance, and tax preparation. The owner will handle product creation, shipping, and delivery, while also saving for leaner months.
The application emphasizes the owner’s dedication and hard work, along with a commitment to producing natural skincare products. With over 30 years of experience in healthcare, the owner is passionate about enhancing product quality and reviving traditional skills.
Competitive challenges include soap companies, home decor stores, and discount retailers. However, Yellow Orchid differentiates itself through its use of sustainable and natural ingredients. The business repurposes sterilized second-hand containers for candles and offers incentives for customers to return packaging for refills. Their products, including bath bombs and soaps, are packaged without wrapping, and they create holiday baskets from sanitized second-hand materials. Overall, the application highlights a commitment to reducing waste while providing customizable, eco-friendly products.

Business Plan
I plan on advertising, having promotional items and sales for benefiting non profits. I need business cards and to hire someone who can do sales with local stores. I'll need insurance and an attorney as well as a tax person. I will make the products, I will do the shipping, I will do the delivering and I will have a savings for the business for the tighter months. I just need someone to give me a chance. I am determined and hard working. I want to make as natural a product as possible. I have a passion for skin care and healthy living. I have been in Health care for over 30 years and am always trying to improve the products we use. I have a passion for skills that are no longer appreciated and believe we need to get back to some of those basic skills.

Self Identified Competition
Any soap company and any home decor store are always the top competition. So are second hand stores and any discount stores. I use natural (as possible)sustainable ingredients, for candles I also use sterilized second hand jars and cups, and other containers therefore reducing new product waste. I offer an incentive for bringing the candle, lotion bottle, and hand sanitizers bottle back to be refilled. The bath bombs will not be wrapped but dried so they won't need to be wrapped. Same with the soaps(no wrapping) I have holiday and seasonal baskets for gift giving. All are customizable. I again use baskets from second Hand stores and sanitize them with lysol. I sometimes have to buy new but I prefer to cut cost and waste with second hand.
