UBU with REiki | Application Preview
UBU is seeking government grant funding to provide full-time Reiki services aimed at improving the well-being of diverse groups, including healthcare workers, patients, the elderly, children, veterans, and individuals facing mental health challenges. The funds will be utilized to reduce emergency room visits, alleviate anxiety and depression, and enhance overall health outcomes.
The business plan involves certifying practitioners in each county of Maryland, allowing them to offer sessions priced at $60 each, five days a week. UBU expects to earn 10% from each session conducted by these practitioners, generating significant revenue alongside services provided directly by the founder.
UBU emphasizes the urgent need for funding, citing the rise in mental health issues exacerbated by the pandemic, societal violence, and increased suicide rates. The organization believes that Reiki can effectively address underlying causes of distress and promote healing, ultimately decreasing reliance on medications and reducing strain on healthcare resources. A collaboration with local health providers and agencies, including the VA, is planned to reach potential clients, with services available to people regardless of age, income, or background.
In terms of competition, the top rivals offer similar sessions but primarily cater to those who actively seek out such therapies. UBU's approach differentiates itself by actively locating individuals in need, utilizing the founder's extensive healthcare experience and connections to provide compassionate support. The founder aims to reach those who may feel overwhelmed and unsure of where to seek help, making a meaningful impact in the community.

Business Plan
My plan is to offer classes to certify others who want to serve their communities. Goal is to offer a practitioner in each county in Maryland who would provide sessions of 6 ($60/session) for clients per day times 5 days a week. Each practitioner is contracted with me to which I would receive 10% from each session they offer for administrative cost (website management , record keeping, payroll etc). $180/wk/26 counties=$4140/month from other practitioners to my business along with doing sessions myself. With the pandemic, surge in violence, suicide rates, increase of anxiety and depression, I know that the offering of Reiki (energy healing) has the ability to assist each person in finding the root cause of their violent behaviors, why they want to end their lives, and help them to find happiness within themselves. This decreases medication usage, hospital resources, and the anger that causes the violence in our communities. We need to go to them. My plan is to collaborate with local health provides as well as governmental agencies such as the VA to connect with potential clients. These services can be offered to people of all ages, incomes, nationalities, religious backgrounds as Reiki is not religious based. We have to think of alternative ways to help our communities heal.

Self Identified Competition
The top three competitors do offer in person and remote sessions but to only those who search for this type of therapy. The difference is I find them and a registered nurse who is able to utilize almost 20 years of experience and connections within the health care communities to help those in need. As I mentioned before, I search for them. If someone has any or all of the concerns/symptoms many times that don't have the ability to search out help. They are discouraged, depressed, and overwhelmed by life in general. With my health care background and ,compassion for others as a registered nurse I understand their struggles. I have seen, heard, and witnessed how many need help but don't know where to start.
