Pick-A-Pack LLC L2300038309 | Government Grant Application

Pick-A-Pack LLC | Application Preview

Pick-A-Pack LLC is seeking government grants to fund the opening of a retail location and to expand its inventory for two online businesses. The funding will also support hiring veterans as the business grows.

The business plans to enhance its online presence by increasing the inventory to several hundred products while also establishing a retail outlet. A portion of the proceeds, specifically 10%, will be donated to Saint Jude Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The owner, a 100% disabled veteran, is committed to giving back to the community, particularly to fellow veterans, and aims to create a local company website that offers a 25% discount to veterans.

The owner highlights the need for funding to create a stable living and to assist those in the community, including providing support to families in need. The application expresses a desire to show investors that the business is not only focused on profit but also on charitable contributions.

In terms of competition, Pick-A-Pack LLC mentions other online stores primarily on platforms like Amazon and Shopify, but believes their retail location will face little competition due to the unique skill set of the owner’s spouse in repurposing furniture. They aim to establish an upscale location that caters to the demand for quality furniture and plan to participate in live shows across the East Coast, expanding their market reach from Florida to New England. The application emphasizes the owner’s experience and the local demand for their products as key competitive strengths.

  • Business Plan

The two online businesses will continue to operate as we will increase our inventory to several hundred products on both sites. We will also open a retail location and 10% of our proceeds will go to Saint Jude hospital in Memphis Tennessee. Our business will grow and hire veterans. Our goal is to have our own local company website and offer a 25% discount to all veterans. It is our goal to give back to our community and especially our veterans. My company is owned by me 100% disabled veteran, and my spouse and my mother. Our goal is to make a living. Obviously I cannot do anything else at this stage of my disability, but it’s also my goal to help everyone in the community that I can especially the veterans that have sacrificed so much. I will do things all the time like, donate furniture to a lady and her children if she’s been abused. Speaking directly to investors I would say please give me an opportunity to prove to you that we are not only trying to make a living, but be charitable at the same time. TY

  • Self Identified Competition

The top competitors we have are other online stores on Amazon and Shopify. As far as the retail location we plan to open, I believe we do not have much competition as my wife is an expert at repurposing furniture, and I believe that we have what it takes to grow this side of the business. This is the side of the business that will be able to give back to the community the most I believe. As I said, in the last paragraph, I have been doing this furniture side of the business already, and have seen the demand for my wife’s products however, I do not have the capital to grow the business. We would like to have a retail location that takes in product and re-sells it to the general public but we want it to be an upscale location as we deal in nicer pieces of furniture. The demand for our skill is high where we live in Bradenton Florida. There are others in this type of business. However, they do not have the skill level that my wife possesses. We received request all of the time from individuals to redo their furniture. However, it is not practical out of our home and we would like to travel to live shows all over America and sell our product. We will sell primarily on the East Coast from Florida to New England.
