  • Business Plan

Music One Stop Shop is currently conducting our program in 5 phases through the tenure of 5 years (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closure) in which at the end of our program lifecycle we will utilize quantitative data such as Program Attendance (Group Size) and Survey Data and qualitative results such as Gender, Qualifications, Type of Instruction (Interactive Instruction), Type of Teaching Approach (Facilitator) to measure overall impact from the program to the youth and students of the Richmond area. Currently we are transitioning from our Initiation Phase (Year 1) into the Planning Phase (Year 2) of our program where we have established relationships with stakeholders (YMCA) by conducting outreach through POCs and updating our professional and media profiles. We also predict to have an established budget by this tenure. By our Execution Phase (Year 3), we forecast our program to be implemented among stakeholders and fully operational where we will be able to allocate acquired resources to track the status our program. When our timeline has progressed to the Monitor and Control Phase (Year 4) we’ll have monitored program progression, utilized key indicators acquired through qualitative data to measure performance and continue to align our project goal with obtained results. After conducting the Closure Phase (Year 5) our program lifecycle, we predict that we will have become a chartered entity within the city of Richmond. Each year we will utilize obtained data results and conduct post panel discussions with our stakeholders to present results, identify project targets and discuss expansion opportunities. Music One Stop Shop has identified a dilemma within our respected industry sector that we would like to resolve in which there is not an existing program that offers free access to media production resources in order to curate a safe and accessible outlet for creativity and mental health. The city of Richmond has a reputation for being one of the three artistic hubs (Washington DC, Richmond, Norfolk) in Virginia. Richmond specifically encompasses local youth and students that create and inspire through art, however there are multiple creative spaces which requires students and youth to pay for these services, which results in a surplus of creatives but a deficit of affordable resources, instruction, mentorship and community networking.

  • Self Identified Competition

Our current competitors are Goodpeeple Studios, In Your Ear Studios, and Verify Sounds Studios. Goodpeeples Studios is an established recording studio that has been catering to the local Richmond population since 2015, and have since became an authorized studio vendor for Atlantic and Epic Records. In Your Ear Studios is the premium outlet for high-level commercial clients and have also received a Grammy for recording Chris Brown’s 2012 album “F.A.M.E.”. Since 2016, Verify Sounds Studio has an established relationship with the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) student population by offering studio services at a more affordable rate. Music One Stop Shop has differentiated itself by transitioning to a focus on community service-oriented strategies. We have since initiated free weekly programs with consistent attendance and completed deliverables with the intention to expand this program in order to pay volunteers, provide more resources for the program, and to fund an improved marketing strategy to increase awareness.
