The Dance Academy 568730075 | Government Grant Application

The Dance Academy | Application Preview

The Dance Academy is seeking government grants to cover summer lease expenses and supplies for the upcoming year, aiming to sustain its operations in Lander, WY after experiencing setbacks due to Covid. The business plan includes expanding class offerings, particularly for special needs children, emphasizing the importance of access to the performing arts.

With 32 years of experience, the Academy has weathered various economic challenges and has successfully engaged local youth in dance, imparting essential skills such as discipline and dedication. The Academy faces competition from Main Street Dance and Rising Star Tumbling, but believes it holds a competitive edge due to the owner’s extensive background as a professional dancer in California and a solid track record of nurturing talented students who have gone on to achieve success in the dance world.

The application argues that funding is critical not only for the studio's survival but also for providing valuable opportunities to the community's youth, reinforcing the Academy's commitment to fostering a passion for dance and promoting personal growth.

To pay summer lease and supplies for the next year so we may continue to remain in business. We want to be able to offer dance lessons in Lander,WY and continue our studio. We need some help to gain back what we lost with Covid.

  • Business Plan

I would really like to add more classes to the schedule and even classes for special needs children. This is a performing art and children should be able to pursue this passion. I have been in business for 32 years and have gone through all economic ups and downs. We have boys and girls who love to dance. It keeps them out of trouble, teaches them discipline, dedication, life lessons, of which all of this is so important in this day and age,

  • Self Identified Competition

Main Street Dance and Rising Star Tumbling are my two competitors in Lander, WY. They do not have the knowledge and business background that I have, but in a small town, it is hard to be profitable when your population is less than 7,000. I was a professional dancer in CA. prior to moving to Wyoming. I started this studio at the age of 24 and have built it into a very respectable dance studio. I have had only 2 small injuries in 32 years. I have had dancers go onto, Broadway, Denver Nuggets professional dancers, college scholarships for dance, college dance teams and many to pursue the passion of dance in college. I work had and have proven I am fiscally responsible and invest not into the studio, but into the children.
