NEURODIVR LLC 87-2344055 | Government Grant Application

NEURODIVR LLC | Application Preview

NEURODIVR LLC is seeking government grant funding to advance its technology aimed at supporting individuals with autism. The requested funds will facilitate the hiring of two engineers for the development of a wearable biometric module that has already been designed. Additionally, funding will support hiring a VR developer to merge this module with virtual reality headsets and create educational content, as well as an autism behavioral specialist to aid in the VR content development.

The company's current strategy involves building a network with organizations that can benefit from their technology, such as the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center and various Arizona autism charter schools. Their five-year plan includes completing product development, partnering with manufacturers, gathering feedback from current partners, resolving any issues with the product, establishing commercial transactions, and participating in autism-related conferences to foster further partnerships. NEURODIVR LLC aims to expand its reach nationally while promoting continuous growth.

The reasons for approving the funding highlight personal stakes: CEO Gil Ruiz is a father of a child with autism and a Marine Corps veteran, while COO Ignazio Macaluso has firsthand experience with autism. Both co-founders bring a commitment to improving educational methodologies for those on the spectrum.

In terms of competition, NEURODIVR LLC recognizes two key players: XRHealth, which offers virtual clinics without real-time stress measurement capabilities, and Floreo, which provides educational libraries but lacks NEURODIVR's technological advancements. The company's competitive edge stems from its personal connection to the autism community, driving a mission to create meaningful change and innovate solutions that truly address the challenges faced by individuals with autism.

The requested amount will allow us to hire two engineers to build, test, and develop the wearable biometric module (which has been designed), it will allow us to hire a VR developer to integrate the biometric module with VR headsets and design virtual content, and it will allow us to hire an Autism behavioral specialist to assist the VR development of educational content.

  • Business Plan

We have begun to build a network with entities that can benefit from our technology, and use it as a supplementary tool for their mission. Organizations like the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center, BloomKidz, Arizona Autism Charter Schools Inc., and the Employment Assistance and Social Engagement program at ASU, have shown active interest in using this tool to help deliver educational content. Our plan for the next 5 years includes finalizing the development of the technology, establishing a partnership with a manufacturer, allowing our current partners to test the product, gathering valuable information regarding the product, fixing problems presented by our partners, establishing transactions once our partners have acknowledged the performance of our products, and engaging in autism-related conferences for developing relationships with other organizations that can benefit from our products (i.e. B2B model). Lastly, execute a strategy for continuous growth in order to expand our presence to a national level. CEO and co-founder Gil Ruiz is the father of a 10-year-old diagnosed with Autism. He is a Marine Corps veteran and an engineering undergrad from Arizona State University. COO and co-founder Ignazio Macaluso was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 9 and has experienced firsthand the negative effects of traditional educational methodologies. He is a chemical engineering undergrad from ASU. We understand that investors are taking a big risk when they invest in a startup. Especially in something as risky as NeurodiVR. However, the people make the company. Therefore, they would be investing in us. We're eager to learn and apply newfound knowledge. We are constantly looking for ways to improve as engineers and entrepreneurs. More importantly, I believe no one can apply feedback better than us.

  • Self Identified Competition

Currently, there are two competitors that we are aware of (based on research). XRHealth is a virtual clinic providing services for autistic individuals, but they do not possess the unique ability to measure stress signals in real-time and adjust difficulty levels in a virtual environment based on this input. The second competitor is Floreo. They provide a library of educational scenarios for individuals on the spectrum. Again, they do not possess our technological advantages. Our focus is to solve a real problem, by implementing a real and innovative solution. Having a personal experience with autism allows us to build meaningful relationships with those who are directly impacted by autism, or are in the field that provides services to those in need. We started this company in order to make a real change, even when no one believed it could be done. That sums up who we are as entrepreneurs. We are consistent, persistent, and stubborn.
