Lily Mae Lane | Application Preview
Lily Mae Lane is applying for government grants to support her small business. The funding will be used primarily for purchasing inventory to fully stock her retail space, which has become increasingly expensive to maintain. Lily's long-term goal is to transition from renting space within another store to operating her own standalone retail shop.
She emphasizes the importance of her business, describing it as a source of joy for the community and a contributor to local economic activity. Since launching her business in 2019, she has faced significant challenges, particularly due to the impacts of the pandemic. Despite her struggles, she remains committed to her vision and believes that with financial assistance, she can rebuild and grow her business.
Lily acknowledges the competition within the retail market but feels her determination sets her apart. She describes herself as resilient, willing to persevere where others might falter. With the necessary support, she is confident that she can transform her struggling business into a thriving venture.

Funding Usage
My use for the funding is to pay for the inventory I need to finish filling the retail space I rent. Rent has gotten expensive and I feel like without some some of grant to help me continue my small business dreams that I may lose everything I have tried to do.

Business Plan
I want to grow my business from renting a retail space inside another store to having my own store. You should invest in me because I am the small guy who can get lost when it comes to small businesses. I have never had help or given a chance to something great. Something that brings people joy, and would help citizens spend more thus helping the economy. Staring it in 2019, and then being hit by the pandemic, I am still struggling to get back on my feet. It is only with their help that I can have a chance to continue.

Self Identified Competition
Any retail space. I am different from my competitors in that they may give up too easily. I seem to hold on to hope longer and come back stronger. IF I had this chance I know that I could grow it into something great. Right now, I’m trying to water a garden that’s barely hanging on.
