Appraisal management companies are slowing taking over the industry. They take a larger and larger portion of the appraisers fees while doing no appraisal work. All they do is coordinate with lenders to get appraisals and assign them to individual appraisers. My direct competitors other appraisers are just trying to get by and are typically just bending to the pressure of Appraisal Management companies to lower fees. We are currently working for less then when I started in the early 1990s Most other appraisers in my market have much less experience. are not FHA and Certified residential as I am. I have been appraising since 1991 I am certified residential (a step above licensed) I am also FHA approved. I have these credentials in both Idaho and Washington state. I am located near the Stateline of Idaho and Washington and service Spokane County Washington and Kootenai County Idaho
