True Moves LLC 874729616 | Government Grant Application

True Moves LLC | Application Preview

True Moves LLC is seeking government funding to enhance its operations and expand its services. The proposed budget covers the purchase of a 26-foot box truck for $45,000, cargo and truck insurance for $30,000, advertising expenses of $5,000, and supplies and equipment totaling $1,000.

The business aims to move from its current low-income position by acquiring a moving truck, which will allow it to offer more professional services and comply with Florida’s state regulations. This investment is expected to facilitate job acquisition, partnerships with local businesses, and an enhanced marketing strategy through branding the moving truck. True Moves currently operates in Central Florida, but plans to expand into Southwest Florida and even out-of-state moves over the next few years, while also intending to add cleaning and landscaping services.

Despite being in business for only two years, True Moves is led by Brian and his experienced team, who collectively bring 15 years of knowledge in the moving industry. They have identified a gap in the market for quality moving services amidst growing competition. True Moves focuses on high-quality customer experiences, particularly for vulnerable populations, by providing careful handling of belongings and committed service. The company also engages with local non-profits, reflecting its community-oriented approach.

With funding, True Moves aims to solidify its legitimacy and operational capacity, maintaining a small and trusted team, which distinguishes it from larger corporate competitors. The company's focus on quality and trust positions it as a desirable choice for customers prioritizing care in their moving experiences.

  • Business Plan

First, since we are coming from low-income circumstances our main priority is to attain more jobs and grants so that we can grow our business and provide a secure source of income. In the next year we will purchase a moving truck so that we can legitimize our business. With our own moving truck we would be able to then purchase cargo insurance, which is necessary for us to comply with Florida state statutes and continue to operate as an LLC. With the proper truck and insurances we will be able to offer more professional services that we can expand to more apartment buildings and gated communities as well as create contracts with other businesses (i.e. furniture and appliance stores). Additionally, with a moving truck and cargo insurance we would be able to improve our advertising by wrapping our own truck with our logo. We currently work through a third party moving service called Moving Help and within the next 1-2 years we plan to become completely independent and source our own jobs through word-of-mouth, physical, online advertising. We currently primarily operate within the Central Florida area and within the next 3 years we will expand to Southwest Florida and would like to do more out-of-state moves. In the next 3 years we anticipate adding 10 new employees. Within the next 5 years we would also like to expand our services beyond just moving services and incorporate professional house cleaning services (indoor and outdoor) and small landscaping services since we already have the skills and some equipment. Although True Moves has only existed for 2 years, Brian (the owner and operator) and his team have a combined 15 years of moving experience. Through this experience Brian and his team have recognized the need for quality moves, where people's belongings are handled with extreme care and without the risk of theft. Seeing Florida's rapid social and infrastructural growth, Brian decided to start True Moves shortly after graduating college and with the goal of creating a career as a business-owner and entrepreneur. Although we have seen an increase in moving services/expansion of moving companies in Florida because of such socioeconomic growth, there has also been a decline in the quality of moving services. True Moves' focus on the quality of customer's moving experiences has allowed this small business to grow steadily because customers tend to choose us over larger, (sometimes) cheaper companies for the level of care and professionalism we provide. Furthermore, True Moves provides particular services for elderly and disabled people who are often taken advantage of and experience neglect through the moving process. Our company also works closely with local non-profits who have hired us to help move supplies for food drives and to provide emergency services during the 2022 hurricane season. The goal of True Moves is not to become a large company, but to focus on places where we can develop a reputation for our work and exist long-term. Every team member is coming from a low-income circumstance but we are educated and skilled at what we do. With external investment we will be able to legitimize True Moves and truly grow into the professional company we already represent.

  • Self Identified Competition

There are a plethora of moving companies in Central Florida but the top competitors are large, corporate moving companies that exist across the state and country (e.g. All My Son's Moving, College Hunks, Two Men and a Truck, and Moving Help). Our company is different because we have intentionally kept it small so that we can focus on doing professional quality moves. With a larger moving company there are often reports of neglect, theft, and especially damages. However, because we are a small, tight-knit group of workers we have been able to develop the proper skills, training, and, most importantly, trust, which is essential when taking care of people's precious items.
