Heide Grain & Livestock llc C113 | Government Grant Application

Heide Grain & Livestock llc | Application Preview

Heide Grain & Livestock LLC is seeking government grant funding to alleviate some financial burdens, specifically by paying off equipment and outstanding bills incurred during the COVID-19 shutdown. With the grant, the business plans to reduce its debt, enabling the company to expand by hiring two additional employees and acquiring two more trucks.

The owner shares a personal connection to trucking, having been involved in the industry since childhood. This strong work ethic drives the business, which operates seven days a week for 15 to 16 hours daily.

In terms of competition, the owner highlights challenges posed by established trucking companies in Montana that have been in the industry for much longer and possess more resources. Their ability to haul freight at lower costs creates obstacles for growth.

The owner believes that their youth and proactive approach offer a competitive edge. At 32 years old, they emphasize a commitment to building a sustainable business that can provide for their family and employees, contrasting with older competitors who may not have the same long-term vision.

  • Funding Usage

We would use the money to pay off some equipment and also pay off some bills that racked up on us when we were sitting during Covid shut down.

  • Business Plan

If we have the grant money and can pay off some debt we are looking at expanding and adding an additional two Hired men and two more trucks to run I grew up in a truck I was about four years old when my father first started taking me Trucking because my mom work full-time as well we grew up working hard and that’s what we continue to do this day we work seven days a week about 15 to 16 hours a day and if there’s one thing we know what to do its work.

  • Self Identified Competition

My top three competitors are other trucking companies in Montana that I’ve been around for twice as long as I have and they have 2 to 3 times the amount of trucks it’s just very hard to compete with them when they can haul the freight much cheaper due to the fact that they have more semi‘s and I have money owed against my equipment and they don’t I’m young I am 32 years old started this company myself about 910 years ago and I am trying to make a life for my family and my workers families the youth brings about the opportunity to expand and have this company stay in Montana and run for much longer than my competitors who are all in there early 60s.
