Gullah Swim Academy LLC 873001333 | Government Grant Application

Gullah Swim Academy LLC | Application Preview

Gullah Swim Academy LLC is seeking government grants to enhance its operations and expand its impact in the community. The funding will be allocated towards training both current and future staff, providing swim scholarships for underrepresented individuals, marketing efforts, and covering operational expenses.

The business plan includes collaborating with schools to educate and train students who may become future instructors, working with partners in the aquatics industry to increase minority representation, adding a consulting service for other businesses in the field, and establishing long-lasting relationships in the community.

The rationale for funding approval highlights the importance of representation in teaching, emphasizing that students benefit when instructors share similar backgrounds. Gullah Swim Academy focuses on serving minorities, aiming to reduce drowning statistics through water safety education and swim lessons.

In terms of competition, the academy faces challenges from established entities such as British Swim School, Charleston Swim, and city municipalities. However, their competitive edge lies in being a woman-owned, African American family-run business with over 20 years of experience. They aim to provide aquatic education to both youth and adults, addressing a significant gap in access to swimming lessons for minority populations and fostering a positive change in community health and safety.

British swim school, Charleston Swim, city municipalities. We are a Woman owned, African American, family ran service provider in aquatics with over 20 years of experience. We want to teach not only the youth but the adults how to be water safe in and around all bodies of water. Our competitors do not have a large population of minorities coming to their facilities to learn how to swim in the regular basis. We are making a difference in all lives through aquatic education and training.
