Hana Poulin Dressage & Driving LLC 81-1854170 | Government Grant Application

Hana Poulin Dressage & Driving LLC | Application Preview

Hana Poulin Dressage & Driving LLC is applying for government grants to support its operations and improvements at Moonlight Equestrian Center. The funding would primarily be used to purchase the farm from her business partner, which would allow her to focus on enhancing the property. If purchasing the farm isn't feasible, grant funds would address urgent needs like new roofing, repairs for damaged wood in the barns and indoor arena, excavation for the outdoor arena, new fencing, building shelters for horses, and tree removal.

The business plan includes expanding stable and turnout facilities to accommodate more boarders, hiring help for daily chores, bringing in additional instructors, offering summer horse camps, and creating therapeutic riding programs. As a professional rider, she also aims to compete at a high level in dressage.

The rationale behind seeking funding emphasizes the community benefits of keeping the farm as a wildlife-friendly open space rather than allowing development. The farm aims to be a sanctuary for people of all ages to safely enjoy horseback riding and equine activities.

While there is uncertainty about competition in the area, the competitive edge of Moonlight Equestrian Center lies in its established community atmosphere. It promotes a relaxed and drama-free environment focused on the enjoyment of horses, making it an inviting space for visitors and riders alike.

  • Funding Usage

If granted the full amount I would buy the farm from my business partner. Then I could focus on continuing to fix up the property. If that is not an option: We need new roofing on all the buildings. Material is needed to fix the rotted wood on the barns and indoor arena. We need excavation and new footing for outdoor arena. More fencing for the horses to be turned out. Material to build shelters in the turnout areas. Tree removal by the house before they fall on the house. Possibly offer scholarships for financially strapped individuals wanting to do lessons.

  • Business Plan

I plan to continue to fix up the stables and turnout to be able to take in more boarders. I would like to higher some help with daily chores and clean up. Additional instructors would also be a benefit financially. Offering horse camp in the summer. Creating a therapeutic riding program for young and old. As a professional rider, continuing to show up to the top level of dressage. Investors should invest in my horse farm because it is good for the community. The area is left open to wildlife and not made into another development with concrete and houses built close together. To have some financial support the farm would become more magical then it already is. I have my own dreams of showing and being a big time dressage rider but this is for the farm, also known as Moonlight Equestrian Center. I want this place to be a safe space for the young and old to enjoy.

  • Self Identified Competition

I'm really not sure. I believe you should invest in Moonlight because of the community that already gathers here. People come to the farm to enjoy their time here and with the horses. It is a low key environment. No Drama. Its all about the horses.
