Elevate Behavior Services | Application Preview
Elevate Behavior Services is seeking government grants to enhance its facilities and services in Chattanooga. The funding will primarily go towards installing a security system to protect vulnerable clients and allow parents to observe therapy sessions without disrupting the environment. Additionally, they aim to upgrade their playground with developmental activities and replace their aging fire alarm system to meet stricter school safety regulations as they apply to become a private school.
The business plan outlines their intention to expand capacity by opening 40 new spots from their waitlist while enhancing service offerings. They aim to create a holistic resource hub for families that includes essential services such as counseling, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. Elevate plans to establish a day program-school and outpatient therapy program, ensuring diverse funding sources through insurance, private payments, state funding, and tuition.
Elevate was founded in response to a lack of quality ABA therapy options in Chattanooga, especially after the founder’s experience with long waitlists in Florida. Since its opening in late 2018, the clinic has grown significantly despite challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. They focus on in-house training for staff to ensure high-quality care and have developed partnerships with local schools to offer ABA therapy directly to students.
Elevate stands out from competitors by maintaining low waitlists and fostering a supportive work culture to minimize staff turnover, which ensures continuity of care for clients. Their commitment to providing a comprehensive approach to therapy sets them apart, as most other facilities focus on isolated services. By empowering their clients, Elevate aims to positively impact the broader community.

Funding Usage
I would like to use this money to put in a security system in the building as we serve a very vulnerable population. This would help to ensure their safety as well as allow parents to watch sessions without being in the room. When parents are in the room, it can skew the treatment and we have a harder time teaching the parents how to do certain skills. We also have a playground that has very little on it currently. This would help to fill the playground with developmental activities to teach skills to our clients. Lastly, we are in need of a replacement of our fire alarm system. Currently we do pass a fire inspection for the city. We are applying with the State to be considered a private school and take State money for it. The school fire inspection is stricter and without this, we cannot pass the school fire inspection. Becoming a school will open up opportunities for a very vulnerable population to receive the type of education that works best for them

Business Plan
With our new space and our readied team of therapists, we will immediately open 40 new spots from our waitlist and have been onboarding our new clients. The demand for ABA services is huge but what is lacking is a holistic approach. Our families are in need of resource, a one stop shop to help get their needs met instead of driving all over town. We plan on adding an LCSW to provide resources and counseling for our families, speech, and OT. In addition to increasing available ABA services, we are establishing a day program-school and outpatient therapy program to fill a much-needed gap that most families face. We are getting set up with the state, further ensuring we have a diversified source of income that includes insurance companies, private pay, state money, and tuition. Elevate was born out of a need for quality ABA therapy in Chattanooga. Our clinic’s primary focus is providing ABA therapy for children with developmental disabilities. After being a therapist in Florida, where there are plenty(but still wait-lists everywhere), moving to TN was an experience. There were only two other clinics in town, and they did not align with my values and ethics. And so Elevate was created! I started working on it in June 2018 and had the clinic open in November 2018. I originally leased 2400 sq ft of the building. I intended to take over the other side when I was ready. However, I was ready faster than anticipated and took over the other side to equal 4,000 sq ft in Oct 2019. Even though Covid was complicated, we never closed down because our kids needed us. We needed to be a constant in their lives and continue to help them, especially when schools were closed. We continued to thrive during this and grew our team and systems even more. We have a comprehensive in-house training program for RBTs and offer nationally recognized training hours for BCBAs aiding in their eventual licensure. This gives us a unique and constant ability to scout for talent and grow our team with the best. We are also able to serve the rural community of Rhea County. The school system has contracted with us to bring ABA therapy into the schools. Reducing the barrier for families to =figure out where it fits into their day. We serve them right at school! Serving our clients has a direct effect on the community. If they are able to be the best they can be, then our community only gets better.

Self Identified Competition
I don't believe we have many competitors at all. All of the ABA clinics in town have a waitlist and leaving children on the waitlist just further complicates the care these families need. We are different then our competitors with the culture of our staff. We invest a lot in our staff to reduce burnout and turnover., Our children need consistency and we do that from the top down with creating the best staff for the job. Our holistic approach for families also sets us apart as most places only provide one aspect.
