Loading Zone II is seeking government grants to help fund essential equipment and repairs crucial for their pizza business. Their pizza ovens, which are 40 years old and damaged from a restaurant fire, need replacing. Other urgent repairs include walk-in coolers and plumbing, as well as furniture that has suffered from misuse of harsh cleaning chemicals. The primary equipment needed includes a new pizza oven and a griddle/stove/oven.
To grow their presence, they plan to boost local marketing through various media outlets and enhance their website. They aim to attract customers with new menu specials, striving to be the preferred dining destination in the area.
The grant would support a business located in a low-income area, where Loading Zone II serves as a vital establishment. They employ individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, including those seeking second chances after past challenges.
While there are a couple of competitors in town, Loading Zone II stands out with its focus on pizza, which makes up a significant portion of their sales. Their hand-tossed pizzas made from fresh ingredients set them apart, and they foster a welcoming atmosphere for families celebrating special occasions. Having operated for 45 years, they hope to further solidify their role in the community after taking over ownership last year.

Funding Usage
Our business thrives on making pizzas as number one. The pizza ovens are 40 years old and been through a restaurant fire. They are at the point that they cannot be repaired. Only replaced. The previous owners hid a lot of items from us. This also includes repairs of the beer coolers, the walk in coolers (they have to be replaced) and the plumbing. The furniture needs repair also. During the last two years they use caustic cleaners that damaged the protective barrier on the tables and seats, thus breakdown occurred and increased damage and infection control broken. The tow items we need the most are the pizza oven and a new griddle/stove/oven.

Business Plan
We would like to expand in the local media (radio, newspaper and online). We have a website that is simple and plain, however we have been trying to increase business with Facebook. Also, I have been coming up with various specials to our menu to help increase business with new and fresh ideas. The goal is to become the restaurant of choice. Our area is an area of low economics. Our business is the main business in our town. We employ people that are low economic status and try to help them out as much as possible. Many of our employees are "second chance" people. They are trying to make and live a good life. They are former addicts and are on programs to help improve their lives and live an honest life.

Self Identified Competition
We have 2 restaurants in the town besides us. However, one is a side restaurant with a limited menu in the local American Legion. The other is Lindell's and has been around for over 100 years. However, the restaurant is only open 5 days per week from 8 am until 12 noon. One competitor is the Quincy and they are a bar and grill like us. They are located in Dollar Bay which is about 10 miles from us. We offer pizzas and that is what sets us aside. People come here for our pizzas. This is why the pizza ovens are so important. The pizzas are roughly 80% of our food sales. Pizza, pizza, pizza. Hand tossed and made to order. Fresh ingredients. We are also a friendly environment for families to come. Many use our restaurant to celebrate birthdays, funeral luncheons, engagements, etc. The business has been around for 45 years. We took over ownership last year.
