Braids & Beyond, LLC Braids & Beyond, LLC | Government Grant Application

Braids & Beyond, LLC | Application Preview

Braids & Beyond, LLC is seeking government grants to fund the construction and repairs of their salon, acquire new equipment, and purchase retail beauty products. The business aims to expand by adding more stylist booths and introducing a mini beauty supply store within the salon.

Since launching in 2019 as a single chair operation, the business has significantly grown, expanding to four chairs in 2021 and now operating an eight-chair salon as of September 2022. Braids & Beyond is unique in its ability to provide a full range of services—including hair care, braiding, and retail beauty products—within a 10-mile radius, where no other similar business exists. The funds sought will help further enhance their offerings and positively impact the local community.

While there are other braiding and barber shops nearby, Braids & Beyond distinguishes itself by providing a comprehensive salon experience with a focus on high-quality hair care. The business prides itself on catering to the entire family and delivering unmatched service quality, which has garnered positive feedback from clients who appreciate having a full-service option in the area. By hiring skilled professionals who align with their values, Braids & Beyond aims to maintain its strong brand reputation.

  • Business Plan

I plan to build out and allow more booths to hire more stylists and to offer retail beauty products at the salon. This will me like a mini beauty supply store within my salon. These funds should be awarded because over the last 3.5 years, since starting my business at home at home, I have proven that I have what it takes to run and grow my business. I started as a single chair salon in 2019, expanded to 4 chairs in 2021, currently run an 8 chair salon since September 2022. There are no other business offering services like mine within a 10 mile radius and none in the area where you can get your beauty supplies and your hair fixed in the same place. These funds will allow the business to thrive and be a positive contribution to the county we reside.

  • Self Identified Competition

There are other braid shops and barber shops in our area, but I do not know that we have competitors because we offer different services that the African shops and more services that just barbering (as it compares to barber shops). Clients that come by constantly tell us that they are so happy to have a full service salon in the area and that they usually have to travel to get the services we offer in one location. My business in different from competitors because we offer a salon experience and quality that is unmatched. Most hair salons in the are either offer chemical, color and cut services, or braiding or barbering. We offer it all. Unlike other braid shops (mostly African owned) we shampoo and take care of the client natural hair. Our braiding hair is treated and included with service. The entire family can come to our salon versus having to go to a separate shop for barbering services. I believe in only providing quality experiences, so I hire individuals that are like minded and skilled in order to maintain my brand.
