Distal Edge Nail Studio LLC | Application Preview
Distal Edge Nail Studio LLC is seeking a $15,000 government grant to cover essential expenses necessary for opening its specialized nail service studio. The funding breakdown includes key items such as an autoclave, air control system, pedicure stations, LED lights, a towel warmer, a receptionist desk, and surgical stainless steel implements.
The business already has a loyal customer base, primarily driven by word of mouth and social media presence. Once the studio opens, it will be listed on the Meticulous Manicurist map, making it easier for potential clients in the surrounding areas of Rochelle and Rockford to find specialized pedicure services. The studio aims to create a judgment-free environment, especially for elderly clients or those unable to tend to their own toenails.
The owner emphasizes their advanced training as a medical nail technician, providing specialized care for clients with toenail issues and ensuring proper sterilization to prevent cross-contamination. This level of care is crucial, especially for clients with foot issues caused by conditions like fungus or diabetes.
In terms of competition, the studio has a unique position as no local salons offer the same specialized services or adhere to the stringent sterilization standards proposed. The owner is committed to maintaining high sanitation practices, which will appeal to clients seeking a safe and professional pedicure experience.

Business Plan
Currently I do have a decent amount of people who already come to me for nail services. Word of mouth is definitely a big deal where I am located. I am on social media and advertise on there. Once my studio is open I will be put on the Meticulous Manicurist map finder. This is where clients can look to see who is closest to them for the specialized pedicure services. The space I am looking into is also between two big cities, Rochelle and Rockford. There is plenty of traffic that flows through. I will post before and after photos of my clients feet so others can see the results for themselves. Pedicures are extremely important and especially for the elderly and clients who can not reach their feet. I will be safe space for clients to not feel judged about how their toenails look. I will continue to keep my education up to date so my clients know they are getting the best care. My advanced training can help people who have issues with their toenails. I know how to properly care for these clients and show them I do care! My private one on one studio is just the space to feel safe, relaxed and most importantly, not judged! There is no one in my surrounding area to perform these specialized pedicures on clients who really need them. These clients have pain when they walk. Their toenails are severely impacted with dirt and dry skin and causing pressure on the toenail to dig in the sidewalls. Clients with toenail fungus are embarrassed of how their toes look. When dealing with a fungus, it is important to properly sterilize implements or dispose of them. This prevents cross contamination as fungus is contagious. My training as a medical nail technician also lets me know if something does not look normal on my clients feet and refer them to their doctor. Foot caner is very deadly because the foot is last to be looked at by most people.

Self Identified Competition
I do not have any competitors. The few salons around are spa salons or walk in (discount) salons. No one in my area offers specialized pedicures. Salons in my area are not held to the higher standards of the sterilization process I will have in place for my studio. My studio is different in a way that my sanitation, disinfection and sterilization process will be unmatched! If an implement used on a client can not be sterilized, it will then be disposed of. Implements will Never be reused unless properly sterilized. My disinfection process is very important to me as I personally know people who have contracted bacteria from discount salons. Clients who are diabetic, have nephropathy or auto-immune deficiency will feel safe coming to my studio.
