Orchid Energy Solutions LLC 45-4408648 | Government Grant Application

Orchid Energy Solutions LLC | Application Preview

Orchid Energy Solutions LLC is seeking government grants to support several key initiatives. The funding will primarily be used for debt consolidation, purchasing inventory, and constructing a covered storage barn behind their store to facilitate better management of scrap battery pallets during winter.

The business prides itself on being a certified minority- and women-owned entity. Their plan includes pursuing additional government contracts and hiring a new employee to help reach a broader audience, particularly within the Latinx community. Given the rising inventory costs, they require extra working capital for these improvements. Enhancements to the shop’s appearance and the replacement of outdated battery chargers are also on the agenda.

In terms of competition, they face challenges from Batteries Plus franchises and major retailers like Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Walmart. However, Orchid Energy Solutions highlights its competitive advantage: being a local, woman-owned and minority-owned business with over 30 years of expertise in the battery industry. Additionally, they offer same-day delivery at no extra charge, setting them apart from larger franchise competitors.

  • Business Plan

We are certified minority owned and women owned; plan to go after more government contracts and hire a new person. I would like to bring on a Hispanic employee so that we can expand our customer base to the Latinx community. We are finding inventory costs have gone up and need additional working capital. We would like to build a covered area behind our store to put scrap battery pallets so we don’t have to dig out of the snow in the winter. We would like to do a face lift to the shop, and replace some old battery chargers that are ten years old.

  • Self Identified Competition

Batteries Plus franchises Big box stores like Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Walmart We are different from our competitors because we are woman owned and minority owned, we have 30 years of battery knowledge and expertise, we deliver orders to our customers at no extra charge the same day. We are a local business entity, established in Michigan, not a franchise.
