A + A Small Dog Grooming 529276253 | Government Grant Application

A + A Small Dog Grooming | Application Preview

A + A Small Dog Grooming is seeking government grant funding to expand its operations currently located in a residential garage. The funding will be used to construct a dedicated grooming shop, allowing for extended hours and an increase in grooming capacity.

The business recognizes a growing demand for dog grooming services stemming from the pandemic’s impact, which saw many households welcoming new pets. With restrictions easing, many new pet owners are struggling to find affordable grooming options while facing rising costs at high-end salons. As a result, many pets are receiving inadequate grooming, leading to common issues like matted coats and overgrown nails.

A + A Small Dog Grooming highlights its competition with established brands like Petco but emphasizes its unique value in providing personalized, quality care by a single groomer who connects with both the pets and their owners. The grant would enable the business to train additional groomers, allowing for more pets to be serviced without sacrificing quality. The aim is to maintain a high standard of care for all dogs, regardless of their owners' financial means.

  • Funding Usage

I am currently working from a small space in me residence garage. I have drawn up plans to build a small shop onto my garage.

  • Business Plan

By building a space that will be used only for my business I will be able to expand my hours of operation and increase my intake numbers. I can hire additional groomers to accommodate my increasing customer demand. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people became increasingly restless, lonely and in need of companionship. Dogs became a must, 23 million American households brought home a new pet. As the pandemic has lifted, people have returned to work and school those dogs are getting lass care. The animal care industry has seen a surge in high end, high priced grooming salons and spas. However, the economy has not surged in the same direction. This has left many new pet owners with few economical dog grooming choices. Sadly, the negative impact of this is the family pet. They are becoming long overdue for simple care. The new love of the doodle dog has increased matted coats, along with overgrown ears, long nails, goopy eyes and overall substandard care. These new pet owners are surprised to find out how much they need to spend on getting their dog groomed, especially if your dog is large or has a high-maintenance coat. Grooming prices vary based on your dog’s size and type of coat from $55 for a small dog with short hair to $150+ for a giant breed with a curly or matted coat. I need help to expand this business. The average dog in the average family deserves and needs good care just as those that live in the homes that can afford the expensive, high end care.

  • Self Identified Competition

Petco All in the Details I’m one person. I greet the dog, meet the owner and give personal, quality care to each dog I groom. That is important. However, this process is not the fastest or most cost effective for the revenue part of the business. Funding could give me the ability to train additional groomers, train owners to groom their own dogs and increase the quantity of good grooms with keeping the quality of personal care.
