Fresh Start Home, LLC | Application Preview
Fresh Start Home, LLC is seeking government grants to fund a down payment on a house and purchase materials necessary to convert it into affordable rental housing. Established in 2014, the company has previously focused on flipping homes but has shifted its strategy to address the growing rental demand in Mason County.
The business aims to provide affordable rental options for individuals and families relocating to the area, emphasizing the importance of secure housing during their transition. The competition consists mainly of seasonal rentals, homes for sale that aren't ready for immediate occupancy, and temporary housing for those in transitional job situations.
Fresh Start's competitive advantage lies in its commitment to inclusivity by providing job opportunities for individuals with disabilities and collaborating with local small businesses for materials and services. This approach not only supports the community but also enhances the company's ability to meet the needs of renters effectively.

Business Plan
We plan to invest our time and money to increase rentals for individuals and families who move to the Mason County area and looking for affordable rental housing. Fresh Start Home, LLC has been in business since 2014 and up until 2023, we have bought a house to flip on a consistent basisi. After further consideration and investigation, we needed to rethink the needs of the market and match it with our skill set. We can meet the needs of the rental demand in our area and assist people who want to our area to be able to rent nice homes while they continue to work and look for permanent living arrangements.

Self Identified Competition
Seasonal renters who will not rent year round, houses for sale that are not move-in ready for people trying to relocate for jobs, and housing for people in transition or in short term job situations. Being a retired special education teacher, I have looked for opportunities for people with disabilities and barriers to gain work experience with our company. We also hire small business subcontractors and shop locally for our building materials.
