    Grant monies would be used by the Ohio Military Reserve to purchase and maintain radio over ip equipment. This radio equipment would be used for communication across the state of Ohio without relying on possibly compromised or overloaded infrastructures enabling command/control for state defense forces.

    The OHMR is continually recruiting new volunteers. OHMR is a military force which supports the State of Ohio along with the Ohio Army National Guard and Ohio Air National Guard in times of natural disaster and state and national emergencies. When ordered by Ohio's Governor or Adjutant General, provide an organized, trained, disciplined force to assist state and local government agencies and coordinate with civil relief organizations in impending or actual emergencies to assure the welfare and safety of the citizens of Ohio. In addition, the Ohio Military Reserve also supports the activities of the Ohio National Guard when directed. PRIMARY MISSIONS ASSIGNED BY THE TAG: Disaster Relief And Support Points of Distribution Shelter Management Voluntary Reception Centers ADDITIONAL SUPPORT MISSIONS THE OHMR HAS OR CAN PROVIDE: Legal support to deploying Ohio National Guard troops Public Affairs/Government Relations Chaplain Support to OHMR and National Guard troops Medical Support to OHMR and National Guard troops Honor Guards Communication support and training in communication skills Disaster Relief Support Provide professional skills to Ohio Adjutant General In 2018, the Cyber Legislation was passed by 35 states. As cybersecurity continues to be a concern for government and the private sector. It has enormous implications for government security, economic prosperity and public safety. States are addressing cybersecurity through various initiatives, such as providing more funding for improved security measures, requiring government agencies or businesses to implement specific types of security practices, increasing penalties for computer crimes, addressing threats to critical infrastructure and more. 2018 Introductions: At least 35 states, D.C. and Puerto Rico introduced/considered more than 265 bills or resolutions related to cybersecurity. Some of the key areas of legislative activity include: Improving government security practices. Providing funding for cybersecurity programs and initiatives. Restricting public disclosure of sensitive government cybersecurity information. Promoting workforce, training, economic development.

    n/a The primary mission of the Ohio Military Reserve (OHMR) is to provide a fully-manned and mission-ready civil support and sustainment brigade to support the state's Emergency Support Function 6 (mass care) and Emergency Support Function 7 (logistics and resource support) during a natural or man-made disasters or other threats to homeland security. All members of the OHMR are volunteers and most materials/equipment has been donated.
