Denison Performance International 804542767 | Government Grant Application

Denison Performance International | Application Preview

Denison Performance International is applying for government grants to fund the establishment of an academy that will provide training for athletes. The total funding request is aimed primarily at securing a partnership with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), which requires an initial investment of $16,000 covering licensing fees and thirty student enrollment keys. The remaining funds will be allocated to legal fees, marketing, classroom equipment, a three-month expense reserve, and other startup costs.

The business envisions becoming the premier destination for athletic training in the Houston area, focusing on improving performance and reducing injury risk for athletes. The long-term goal is to expand and become the leading personal training school in the United States, starting with the Houston area and extending throughout Texas. Denison Performance International emphasizes delivering value to athletes, clients, and students through tailored training solutions and experienced instruction.

The case for funding approval highlights the growing recognition of performance training as an investment rather than an expense. The academy aims to provide competitive fees aligned with the unique value it offers, including comprehensive education and practical experiences. Acknowledging the significant financial commitment many parents make for their children’s sports futures, the organization positions itself to enhance athletes' success in their sports careers.

In terms of competition, the only rival is located in Round Rock, Texas, which offers a less comprehensive training schedule. Denison Performance International stands out as the only personal training academy providing in-person instruction in Houston, leveraging this unique advantage to attract potential students.

  • Business Plan

We seek to be the go-to destination for athletes in the Houston area. Our approach to training is designed to fill in the holes of performance where an athlete may be lacking, and by doing so we help them reduce the risk of injury and optimize their performance. With time, we will be the most sought-after organization for high school and collegiate athletic preparation. Our target for the academy is to be the number one personal training school in the United States, beginning with the Houston area and then to the state of Texas. We understand the concept of bringing as much value as possible to our athletes, clients, and students, and with our collective experience and education, we know it is a very achievable goal. It all starts with one client, helping them improve their performance by giving them what they need to perform better. With each student we graduate, we will set the standard for what personal trainers should be. When it comes to performance training, athletes and clients understand that working with an additional trainer is not a cost, it is an investment. We priced our services based on their needs, whether it be testing and assessments, rehabilitation, or sport-specific training to complement the rigorous training with their respective teams. Our niche has a narrow but operative focus, making us unique to the market and with organizations such as Select Baseball. Many parents pay significant amounts of money to send their children to play for these teams, knowing that it is paving the way for their child’s future in baseball, and our organization greatly helps their chances of success in high school sport and eventually their collegiate careers. With the academy, we set our prices according to the market value of what other schools are offering and what we have that surpasses it. For the CPT course, we marked it higher compared to the other schools, knowing that we provide more value in terms of education offers, in-person instruction, class time availability, and the practical experience acquired during their time as a student. Price can be a factor for some students, which is why we offer payment plans to assist with financing, as well as discounts for military and first-responder personnel, and when students choose to make larger payments.

  • Self Identified Competition

Our only competitor is located in Round Rock, Texas, where they have a personal training academy that meets once a week for a set period of time depending on the certification the student opts for. According to NASM’s website, there are 18 educational partners in Texas, 4 of which are in the Houston area. Of all 18 partners, only one is an academy that does in-person instruction, and they are in Round Rock. This makes us the only in-person personal training academy in all of Houston, putting us at the top of the list of personal training schools for potential students.
