Take Forty | Application Preview
Take Forty is applying for government grants to fund materials and subcontracting for a recently purchased property. The business aims to renovate homes in low-income neighborhoods, addressing the issue of dilapidated housing and fostering community improvement. By restoring these homes, Take Forty hopes to enhance the neighborhoods and support local residents.
As a minority-owned and operated business, funding approval would not only help Take Forty but also benefit other local minority businesses through subcontracting. The business is in the early stages, facing minimal competition, and has already established connections with minority contractors to ensure that work is done locally.
Take Forty’s name reflects its mission, inspired by the historical reference of "forty acres and a mule," emphasizing a commitment to community empowerment and providing affordable housing options for residents.

Business Plan
I plan to flip homes in low income areas. There are no shortages of dilapidated homes in these areas. So the plan is to help our neighborhoods by restoring or updating homes. The hope is that we can keep our neighborhoods. We are completed minority owned and operated. Supporting this business would also support other minority businesses. All the work to be subcontracted out will be done by minority businesses that are here locally.

Self Identified Competition
This is a startup and I have briefly met one or two bidding on properties but I am also new to this areas. My business name is Take Forty which indicate my aim to take my forty acres and a mule. By the result of me already lining up minority contractors you would be not only aiding my startup but contributing to other minority small businesses. This will also give back affordable low income housing to the people of this neighborhood.
