  • Funding Usage

    I plan to utilize this funding to procure property for the picnic area. My goal is to purchase no less than 3 acres within the Ascension Parish area. This property will be outfitted with a barn area for the animals to live with proper security from predator's. I need fencing material for a controlled area for the children and adults to convene when they want to interact with the small livestock animals that will be housed on the property. I will also want to purchase at minimum 2 bounce houses and an inflatable water bounce house. The surrounding area will include no less than 4 separated areas that will be outfitted with picnic areas and a single grill for food preparation. I will need pluming for restroom facilities, and a trash company to do weekly retrievals.

    I plan to utilize local businesses via Tractor Supply Company, Social Media, Craigslist as well as conducting verbal communication with this growing area. I am a retired Marine Corps Veteran that sees a once agriculturally driven Parish become very suburban. Due to the fact that families are moving to this area with ideas of that southern farm experience. Due to the high population of subdivisions this is a high demand experience that due to my research people are willing to pay to have interactions with farm animals.

  • Self Identified Competition

    As per my research most of the competing business are mobile as well as at minimum 40 mins away from Ascension Parish. With them being mobile, means that the consumer will have random livestock animals coming to their private residence which could be a liability and high stressor on the homeowner. By having this facility in a permeant area, it will be more convenient for the consumer as well as it will require less out of pocket expenses for transportation to personal residences. The facility will already be setup for this experience and the consumer solely has to worry about payment, and providing their own food. With this experience they will have to lock on a non-refundable reservation fee as well a fee for the usage of the animal interaction, bounce house interaction and water bounce house interaction. There will be set prices for solely animal interaction, bounce house usage and the usage of the water bounce house. There will be different price points setup for what is intended for usage. Various packages will be provided dependent on what the consumer wants for their event attendees to utilize. With future success, I plan on allowing a food service truck service on the property when feasible and will set a price to be paid by the food service vendor for them to be allowed to sell their food on that property.
