Business Plan
NEXTGEN Aviators is a scaleable robust STEM educational experience that solves the labor shortage in aviation. Each location adds to an ecosystem of ongoing support to inspire youth towards technical careers, CTE, and opportunities in all aspects of aviation as well as other STEM areas. Over the next five years, the strategy is simple. Replicate, replicate, replicate - to bring this opportunity to all students. The outreach strategy is simple, to target schools in under-resourced locations and those which serve diverse populations. One cause of the nation's technical labor shortage and need for STEM workers is due to lack of exposure. With continued funding, NEXTGEN Aviators can provide access to more high school students access to a defining moment in their educational journey which exposes them to successful technical career opportunities on many levels. Initial results are very promising. NEXTGEN Aviators is scalable and expanding through lean processes, relationship-building, and excellent program delivery. Although the founding organization, Dynamic Aviation has been engaged in a constant process of attracting youth to STEM careers specifically in avionics for decades, the NEXTGEN Aviators opportunity has been in the market since 2021. Early results show tremendous success. The market responded enthusiastically not only for the student’s experience, community involvement, and STEM education impacts but also for the embedded solution to the labor crisis in aviation. Results from the 2021-2022 season: From August to December 2021, we ran 31 events all over the western side of Virginia, that served 22 schools and over 3000 students Because of the interest that has been generated in aviation because of attending our events, three high schools have created aviation introduction classes. A technical school has created an aviation program A middle school has built 12 flight simulators for daily class use One school district is sending seven teachers to get their Part 107 Small UAS certification Spring of 2022, we held 7 events at 3 airports in Virginia for close to 1000 11th and 12th graders. Current resources make it possible to successfully execute this program on a limited basis. However, combining these grant monies with our professional reputation, industry relationships, and financial partnerships will enable us to build the network required to replicate this project across the mid-Atlantic region and throughout the Country. The goal is to reach 30,000 students each year across the US. With each dropout costing society an estimated $238,000 over their lifetime, giving only 5% of the students who experience NEXTGEN Aviators a reason to stay in school would have a $357 million impact on our economy. The societal impacts are immeasurable. Key Performance Indicators: Attain commitment from schools to bring NEXTGEN Aviators to at least one grade level.
