Grove City Veterinary Hospital 20-2964393 | Government Grant Application

Grove City Veterinary Hospital | Application Preview

Grove City Veterinary Hospital is seeking government grants to support recent renovations and address rising expenses. The hospital has expanded its facilities by adding more exam rooms and a parking lot, making it more accessible, especially for individuals with mobility challenges. This development aims to enhance community service by ensuring ease of access to veterinary care.

The hospital plans to expand its team to better serve dogs and cats in the area, maintaining a commitment to catering to diverse client needs and budgets. The hospital takes pride in its supportive work culture, which has contributed to high employee retention, including long-term staff members who have been with the practice for over ten years.

Despite facing stiff competition from local veterinary practices and the growing presence of corporate investors in the field, the hospital aims to preserve its status as a locally owned, women-operated small business. The funding would help them remain competitive, continue providing high-quality care, and support a positive working environment, where both employees and clients feel valued. The hospital's strong community reputation adds to its competitive edge, alongside its focus on low-stress veterinary care for patients.

  • Funding Usage

We have done some renovations over the last 2-3 years that have caused an increase in expenses and of course that have uncovered additional expenses that were not expected. We have opened our hospital to provide more exam rooms and also added a parking lot to allow our business to be more accessible to everyone in the community, not just able bodied ones. Previously, our clients had to walk a farther distance and go up stairs in order to access our building. This was unacceptable for us so this is a huge reason why we added the parking lot, and ramps.

  • Business Plan

We hope to add staff and doctors to provide care for dogs and cats in our community and pride ourselves on providing a spectrum of care to the community. We enjoy helping clients find options that fit their lifestyle and budgets. Our hospital culture is one that I am very proud of. Throughout covid, so many veterinary employees have become disheartened and discouraged and have left the profession altogether. I am proud to have good retention rates of employees, with several team members who have been with me over 10 years each! We have a good reputation in the community and want to continue to provide good care and a good working environment for our team. With the addition of corporate investors into the veterinary space, we are finding it hard to compete and costs have gone up exponentially, making it hard for us to price things affordably for our clients as compared to corporate groups. We want to continue to be a locally owned and operated small business in our area and are proud to be women owned and operated as well.

  • Self Identified Competition

Our market is pretty saturated with other small veterinary practices in our area. We do find the competition pretty stiff and it constantly pushes us to be better and better. We provide an excellent team culture and working environment. We provide low stress veterinary care to our patients. We have a good reputation in our community.
