Modern Utah Glass | Application Preview
Modern Utah Glass is seeking government grant funding to cover initial costs for larger commercial projects, including expenses for glass materials, insurance, bonds, tools, and payroll. The company aims to strengthen relationships with local contractors for ongoing work while also focusing on joining vendor lists for banks, small businesses, and custom builders. They have invested in software for bidding on commercial properties and enhanced their online presence through social media and website improvements.
The reasoning for funding approval highlights Utah's rapidly growing economy, which increases the demand for glass services. Modern Utah Glass has been receiving inquiries from contractors who report that larger companies cannot meet current demand. The applicant's background with Moyes Glass provides valuable insights that have been applied to refine their business approach. The team is composed of dedicated individuals ready to elevate the company.
In terms of competition, Moyes Glass is the primary competitor, with over 55 years in the industry and a broad service area. However, Modern Utah Glass can offer a faster response time and lower prices due to its smaller size, allowing for streamlined operations. Additionally, they focus on providing custom glass services tailored to the needs of custom builders, which sets them apart from other competitors.

Business Plan
Our business is currently focused on building relationships with small, local contractors for reoccurring work. We also spend an extensive amount of time getting our name on vendor lists for banks, small businesses, and custom builders. We have taken action steps to get licensed and insured for large commercial properties and bought multiple software programs to bid on commercial properties. We have also put an emphasis on social media advertising and revamping our website. Utah has a rapid growing economy and is constantly building and glass will always be a need. We have new contractors calling us daily and telling us that the other glass companies are turning them away because they can't keep up with the demand. I previously worked for Moyes Glass and know this to be true. I have seen the ins and outs of a large glass company and have taken what I learned from there and perfected it. Being a smaller company means I know every aspect of how the business runs and what people want. My team and I are hard working, determined individuals that are ready to take our business to the next level.

Self Identified Competition
Moyes Glass is our top competitor. They cover a large part of northern Utah and have been around for 55 years. They provide similar glass services with the inclusion of windows. Because we are smaller we are able to have one person on one job from start to finish rather than multiple teams communicating on one job making our turnaround time much faster. This also means we are able to offer more competitive pricing. We also specialize in custom glass for custom builders which other glass companies won't offer.
