Devoted Managed Care Insurance | Application Preview
Devoted Managed Care Insurance is seeking government grants to support the business's expenses through the end of 2023. Currently, the business is operated solely by one agent, who is in the early stages of establishing the company. The agent has obtained the necessary licenses to sell Medicare products and facilitate Marketplace transactions. Plans for the future include hiring additional agents to manage Marketplace inquiries while the owner focuses on client relations in the field, but this hiring is not financially feasible at the moment.
The owner emphasizes a commitment to genuinely assist clients in navigating the complexities of Medicare, drawing on 15 years of experience in the Medicare healthcare sector. Strong relationships have formed with existing clients based on honesty, reliability, and a personalized approach, providing them with a trusted point of contact without the need to seek assistance from multiple sources.
While competition exists from other local health insurance agencies, the owner believes that their focus on client welfare, rather than profit, provides a unique advantage. The intention is to deliver solutions that benefit the clients financially, even if it means forgoing a sale. The motivation to start this business stems from personal experience with healthcare challenges, particularly related to caring for a disabled son, alongside extensive experience in healthcare operations and compliance.

Business Plan
Currently I am the only agent in the office. Since I am in my first year and can only maintain myself and the business operations I am waiting to see how it goes through AEP. I have obtained all my license and testing information in order to sell the Medicare product as well as in the Marketplace. Once I have myself up and running I would like to hire agent's under me to be on the phones to handle the Marketplace side of business while I am out in the field assisting clients. I currently am unable to afford to pay someone under me at this time and I do not want to put my business in debt that I would be unable to get out from under. I truly put my heart into helping my clients. I started this business with the full intent of being able to help people. I think it is important for people to have someone they can trust and is out for their best interest. Medicare can be extremely difficult to comprehend and I have been in Medicare Healthcare for the past 15 years. The clients I do have currently have built a relationship with me because I am honest, and trustworthy, and reliable. I assist anytime they reach out and they have comfort knowing they have 1 point of contact and do not have to chase people down for assistance.

Self Identified Competition
There are other local health insurance agencies in my community. I am unaware of how they are doing financially. They are obviously ahead of me as currently I am the only agent in my office and just starting out to build my business. I think what sets me aside from the rest is that I am not only out for a paycheck. I would never put a customer in a plan that would put them in a bad position. I have their best interest at mind and I am honest with them. If I feel someone is already on the best plan for them at that time I will walk away from the sale rather than forcing them into something that would ultimately hurt their pockets. I started this business because I have a disabled son and I know the frustrations behind healthcare. I also know the operational side of healthcare as I worked in it for many years including corporate compliance over sales agents. What that means is I know what not to do to a customer, and I live by doing the right thing for the elderly.
