The Caffeine Factor 923920933 | Government Grant Application

The Caffeine Factor | Application Preview

The Caffeine Factor is seeking government grants to transform an out-of-service school bus into a mobile café. The funding will be used to purchase the bus, safety equipment, and consumables like coffee beans and syrups. The business plan involves launching a unique café on wheels, with future potential for either expanding the fleet or opening a brick-and-mortar location.

The applicant, currently employed at Starbucks, expresses a deep passion for coffee and community interaction, aiming to provide a welcoming space for people to connect over quality beverages. A key aspect of the proposal is a commitment to reinvest profits back into the business instead of taking a personal salary during the initial years.

Competitively, the business acknowledges major players like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts, as well as beloved local cafes. However, it seeks to differentiate itself by prioritizing drink quality and building personal relationships with customers, thus offering a more intimate coffee experience.

  • Funding Usage

I plan to purchase an out of service school bus. I also plan to purchase National Safety Foundation listed equipment. In addition to this, I plan to purchase consumable products, for example, coffee beans, syrups, etc.

  • Business Plan

I plan to open my café on wheels, made from an out of service school bus. From there I am not quite certain where to go. I am either going to expand my fleet and renovate additional school buses, or I will open the doors on a brick and mortar café. There I will be combining quick serve coffee, and specialty brewed and crafted drinks. This grant would allow me to pursue my dream. I am currently a Starbucks Coffee employee, and I love interacting with people, while introducing others to new experiences. I want to recycle out-of-service school buses, and give them a second life. I want to renovate them and create a welcoming place for people to come together, and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. I have a vast knowledge in coffee, and coffee brewing techniques. I have been also been working on all of the small details for over a year now. For the first few years of operation, I will not be taking a salary. All profit will be kept withing the business. This will allow the business to grow.

  • Self Identified Competition

My top three competitors are simple. For one, there is Starbucks Coffee Company. They are a well known name in every household. Secondly there is Dunkin Donuts. Lastly, arguably the greatest competitor is not a specific company, instead it is all of the local cafes that people in small towns love. Many of my larger competitors value quantity of drinks made, as opposed to the quality of the dinks that people leave with. I will be the opposite. While yes, I will value the quantity of drinks that I can craft, I shall focus more on the quality of the drinks. In addition to drinks I will create genuine connections, by getting to know all of my costumers.
