Red Line Campground | Application Preview
Red Line Campground is seeking government grants to fund the development of an 11-acre campground that will feature 66 RV sites with full hookups and 6-8 cabin sites. The grant will cover essential infrastructure costs, including septic systems, electrical and water service installations, and crushed granite for RV site pads. Funds will also ensure compliance with local regulations by hiring necessary engineers and landscape architects, as well as support marketing efforts to promote the campground.
The business plan aims for quick reservations of RV sites, capitalizing on the popularity of the area north of Columbia, South Carolina, which is attractive to full-time RV dwellers. The proximity to downtown Columbia and tourist spots like Lake Monticello is expected to enhance appeal. The campground will actively promote itself through online RV community pages and adjust its offerings based on customer demand for RV sites versus cabin rentals. Plans include exploring additional locations to expand in the future.
Red Line Campground is themed around firefighting, with a commitment to support relevant charities. A portion of monthly profits will be donated to organizations that aid fire victims, veterans, and first responders, alongside fundraising events to raise awareness for these causes. The owners, who are disabled veterans, aim to celebrate and support heroes while creating a valued community experience.
In terms of competition, Red Line Campground faces three established campsites—Broad River Campground, Woodsmoke Campground, and Barnyard RV Park—which are frequently booked. The unique selling point of Red Line Campground lies in the spacious RV sites that offer more privacy, alongside a mission to give back to the community. The commitment to exceptional customer service is also highlighted as a key competitive advantage.

Funding Usage
We will use the funds given to us to pay for the building of the campground. The property is 11 acres and can have 66 RV sites with complete hookups (electric, water, sewage). We will also have 6-8 cabin sites. The funding will pay for the septic system, electrical service, water service installation, and crushed granite for RV site pads. It will also fund the cabins that we build on the property. The funding will provide the necessary engineers and landscaping architects needed to comply with county laws and regulations. It will also provide the capability to broadcast and advertise our campground so people can readily know where we are located.

Business Plan
Once our campground is open, we expect all the RV sites to be reserved quickly. The area north of Columbia, South Carolina is very popular for the full-time RV dwellers. We are located 20 minutes from Main Street downtown area of Columbia and other popular tourist destinations. The Airbnb cabins will be a popular option due to the proximity to the popular areas, including Lake Monticello to the north. Once the business is open, we plan to advertise to all the RV community pages that are online. Depending on what becomes more popular, either the RV sites or cabins, we will adjust the sites to build whichever is needed most. Finally, when this campground is full and busy, we are going to scout other locations, either locally or in other states, and create the experience in as many places as possible. Our campground is named Red Line Campground. The reason behind this name is because it is going to be a fire fighter themed campground. We are a fire fighter family ourselves, and we want to give back to the heroes of our nation. A percentage of our profit earned every month will be donated to burn houses, fire victims, 9/11 foundations, St Baldricks, Wounder Warriors, and other fire fighter/police/veteran foundations. We will host fundraisers and events that bring a spotlight to these organizations that need the funding. We are disabled veterans ourselves and we want to give back to the people who make our community and nation a better place. We are hardworking and committed people who will make this campground a valued experience for everyone involved.

Self Identified Competition
Our top three competitors are Broad River Campground, Woodsmoke Campground, and Barnyard RV Park. These three campgrounds are the closest to our area and are always completely booked. They provide weekend camping for people going on vacation or long-term camping as well. All these campgrounds come with access to full hookups for the average prices of $600-$700 a month. The main difference we are going to have in our campground is providing space with the RV sites. In our campground design, we have it set so each site has a larger area in front providing them with more privacy than these other campgrounds. We also give back while people come and camp. Our business is focused on giving back to our community and to our national heroes with every payment that comes in. We are committed to growing our campground and providing the best customer experience that can be given. We love working with the public and will be able to provide the support needed for every person and family to have an exceptional experience.
