  • Funding Usage

I am a certified woman owned business if that matters/helps. This amount depends on whether or not we are talking about money to help me survive the covid drama without madly stressing, or if we are talking about helping me get some trucks to become asset based, which is my desire (then we will have some trucks to move our loads quickly, increasing revenue on both sides). I can get used reefers (refrigerated trucks) and dry vans for under 100k each.

  • Business Plan

My plan is to have freight agent satellite agencies internationally, as well as to become asset-based (own trucks to dispatch, as well as the brokerage). In this market, the carrier side is most profitable. I need money to help me make it through Covid drama, but I plan to grow through my own good old-fashioned hard work, and my team members hard work. I'm blessed with some great team members! I have already successfully built DTR Executive Solutions and I will do the same with DTR Logistic Solutions. Period. Covid drama has put a damper on both businesses, but recruiting has picked up for DTRExec some. The reason I opened a freight brokerage is because I wanted a business that is needed, even in pandemics. Products will always need moved. I ran into some great, experienced agents that lost the brokerage they were working with because they had all their eggs in one basket, and when the couple food plants they moved freight for closed due to Covid, they put everyone on furlough. That's just due to improper planning and forecasting. You can't count on a business or two sustaining you. You must continually get new business to replace any that may be lost. I have since learned that having assets/trucks will increase my probability of success in this market, as most carriers we call are at capacity indefinitely. About 80% of the 40k truckers that failed the drug test have not tried to return yet, and many that were laid off are still collecting unemployment and not working. Driving schools are not graduating as many due to covid restrictions. I know some drivers though that will work with me! Trucks are NEEDED right now, and will still be needed indefinitely. They run our country's economy really! I have also been helping TFC Global, which is a ministry to help truckers and their families in hard times, as well as a force to help stop/catch sex trafficking. I am now very passionate about this industry and want to be successful in it. I have all the drive and motivation in the world, but lack proper funding to make it happen. I need working capital and straight up capital to invest in things that are needed to build this out to be an ethical, caring company in a very unethical world.

  • Self Identified Competition

Honestly, every brokerage is my competition right now, since we just started. I thought the recruiting industry was competitive and cut-throat, but it's Disney World compared to the freight brokerage world, lol Because I actually do what I say I am going to do and am me 24/7. I don't put on dog and pony shows depending on the people around me, and from what I understand, people like that about me. I SINCERELY mean I am relationship based in my business, not transaction based....and people know it and trust me because they should. At the end of the day, it's the PEOPLE we work with that matter...not just the money we make. I want to make a positive impact on everyone I do business with, while we both make money. I will absolutely walk away from money if it means compromising ethics. Maybe that's a negative for investors, but it's the way I work. For example, in recruiting, if I have a perfect candidate for a job, but the company is not allowed to ever use recruiting firms (which I confirmed), I don't just move on and say "oh well, you can't pay me so you're out of luck," I actually give the candidate the email of the hiring manager and tell them to send themselves. Why would I not help them if I could, just because I won't make money on it? That's not okay to me, but it's the industry standard. There's enough money out there to make without me being a selfish jerk and not helping as much as I am able. That is not a common philosophy, and makes me different for sure, lol.
