Two Ladys Lobster and Seafood | Application Preview
Two Ladys Lobster and Seafood is seeking government grants to fund essential upgrades for their operations. The requested funding will cover the replacement of dock pilings, floats, a lobster tank chiller, two lobster tanks, electrical rewiring, and roof and window repairs, totaling approximately $100,000.
The business aims to expand its retail space to offer more takeout options and enhance lobster purchasing by collaborating with additional fishing boats. Over the past six years, the two women behind the business have transformed an abandoned dock into a valuable community resource, providing hand-picked crabmeat and fresh fish while supporting their families involved in commercial fishing.
The local competition includes other docks for lobster and a single fish market in a nearby area, which struggles to supply the local community. The competitive advantage of Two Ladys lies in their unique offerings of fresh crabmeat and their commitment to a working dock, catering to both retail customers and commercial fishermen.

Business Plan
We would like to expand out retail area to include more takeout options and our lobster buying to include more boats. We are 2 woman who have taken a small rundown dock that was no longer being used and have worked tirelessly for the last 6 years to bring both a great product (hand picked crabmeat) and fresh fish to our local community as well as incorporate our families who are commercial fisherman and get them the best price we can for their product.
-
Self Identified Competition
We actually function on multiple levels so our lobster competition would be local docks, our handpicked crab competition is in waldoboro and they have not been able to bring product to our area, and the only other fish market in our area is also in waldoboro. We are 2 woman trying to fill a void with our fresh picked crabmeat and small retail fish shop while still running a live working dock for commercial fisherman.
