Johnny C's Diner | Application Preview
Johnny C's Diner is seeking government grants to support its business growth and development. The funds will be used for trademarking the brand's logo, name, and tagline, implementing paid marketing strategies, upgrading to a more efficient point-of-sale system for better analytics, and securing a two-month payroll buffer in anticipation of potential sales declines due to indoor dining restrictions.
The overarching business plan aims to franchise the diner and expand its offerings. In addition to breakfast and lunch, Johnny C's Diner intends to become a supper club that serves spirits, beer, and wine, operating as a true diner during the day and an evening destination at night.
The owner highlights extensive experience in the culinary and hospitality sectors, having learned from distinguished chefs and industry leaders. Driven by a personal commitment to the success of this venture, the owner emphasizes a strong desire to run their own business rather than work for others.
Though competition exists from notable breakfast and lunch establishments in the area, each has its unique appeal. Johnny C's Diner differentiates itself by focusing on the owner's determination and hunger for success, positioning itself as a passionate contender in the local dining scene.

Business Plan
My goal is to franchise this location. I would like to develop into the "dinner" period as well to include spirits, beer & wine. My full vision for this concept as a true diner offering breakfast & lunch by day, supper club by night. I have spent many years in the culinary/hospitality industry and have had the chance to learn under many great chefs, owners, partners, etc. I will do anything I can to make this concept succeed. I never want to work for anyone other than myself again.

Self Identified Competition
There are a few other great breakfast - lunch concepts here in the Valley but we all have our differences as, in my opinion, the best are Chef driven. Carson's Kitchen - Kerry Simon's place downtown is great, EAT by Natalie Young is wildly successful as well. I feel like we all have our own nitch. What do they do well....Carson's Kitchen has a great, eclectic style, EAT is simple and delicious. Carson's Kitchen by Kerry Simon was opened after he had already become a very well known chef and had other concepts. EAT was funded by the Zappos founder Tony Hsieh. Natalie Young was featured on an American Express commercial which gave her personal brand and EAT free marketing. What makes me different? I'm hungry. I will make this restaurant and my brand successful.
