Retro Cuts 547773066 | Government Grant Application

Retro Cuts | Application Preview

Retro Cuts is seeking government grants to support its initiative of providing free haircuts to community members affected by the pandemic. The owner is committed to helping local families, especially children and job seekers, who cannot afford grooming services. The funds requested will cover the costs incurred while driving around and offering haircuts, which has placed a financial strain on the owner.

The long-term vision for Retro Cuts is to convert a catering truck into a mobile barbershop, but the immediate focus remains on community support through free haircuts during these challenging times. The owner aims to alleviate some of the financial burdens on struggling parents and ensure that children and job seekers can present themselves well for opportunities.

The application highlights a lack of competition, as no other barbers in the community offer services for free, and current businesses have even expressed concern about revenue loss due to Retro Cuts' philanthropic efforts. The owner's genuine passion and selfless approach set Retro Cuts apart, as the primary motivation is the joy and gratitude expressed by clients after receiving haircuts, rather than financial gain.

  • Funding Usage

This pandemic has been tough on my community so most people can't offered the fees of hairs cuts so what I've been doing is going around my community offering my services to kids for free and I plan to start cutting adults hair who's out there trying to get a job. Driving around cutting hair has put me a deficit because I'm doing this all out of my own pocket so the funds I'm seeking will go directly back into me doing my best to help my community

  • Business Plan

My business plan is to eventually buy a catering truck that I'll convert into a barbershop on wheels. But in the mean time my primary focus is to help my community in my own little way and that's with my clippers and hair cuts to anyone who need it during these awful times Because what I'm doing isn't for me. It's for the struggling parents and single mothers and fathers who have to prioritize their funds because of this pandemic so they can't offered hair cuts for their children or themselves to look presentable for job interviews. My only benefit is seeing the joy on their faces when they look in the mirror after I finish. I don't charge them for the cuts but i fo carry a tip jar because I to have been affected by this Covid-19 outbreak

  • Self Identified Competition

There is no one in my community cutting hair on their own dime. Barbershops ate actually trying to pursue legal actions because they say I'm responsible for their decrease in business due to the free hair cuts i provide to my community My heart is unmistakably clear. I care about this country and more directly my community because i see the day to day struggles and the toll it has taken on people which is why i decided to offer my services for free. No other Barber has done that so that's what makes me different
