Mr. B's Kidz | Application Preview
Mr. B's Kidz is applying for government grants to support their mission of serving the autistic community. The funding will primarily cover payroll expenses until they can secure insurance partnerships and will help facilitate a community fundraiser to raise awareness about their services. This inaugural event will also function as a sign-up opportunity to introduce the therapy staff and is planned to be an annual tradition.
The business addresses a pressing need in the community, noting a significant gap between the number of autistic individuals and the therapists available to assist them. Mr. B’s Kidz aims to provide services for individuals from school age to adulthood, with a vision for job training, education support, and job placement. They emphasize the importance of community understanding of autism and the value that autistic individuals can bring.
The request for funding is framed as an investment in the community, highlighting the goal of providing services that insurance often does not cover. This funding would facilitate therapy and practical training for autistic individuals, enhancing their life skills and community interactions.
In terms of competition, Mr. B's Kidz acknowledges existing organizations such as Action Behavior Center, Centria Healthcare, and Empower Therapy Center. However, they assert that their approach is unique; they focus on the individual's entire support system, rather than just the autistic person, promoting family well-being and the need for caregivers to take breaks. This holistic approach, combined with real-life application of therapeutic strategies, distinguishes them from other providers.

Funding Usage
This amount of funding will provide us with the necessary payroll coverage until we can become providers with the insurance companies. This initial funding will also allow us to host one small fundraiser to let the community know that we are here and able to provide services. It will be a welcome to the community fundraiser. Not only would we use it to raise money, we would use it to raise awareness that we are in the community and able to provide services. We would host a sign-up and meet the therapy staff on that day. This would then become our annual fundraiser to mark our start in the community.

Business Plan
Autism is a growing need in the community. There are currently more autistic individuals than therapists available. This issue is not going to go away; it's just going to continue to age into adulthood. Our goal is to be able to provide services to school-age kids through adults. Our organization will grow and expand as our client's needs change. One goal is to offer job training, assistance with college classes and education, and eventually, job placement within their community. The autistic community has much to offer their community, but the community doesn't always understand autism and its many faces. As we grow in the community, the community will learn about autism and how valuable they can be. Investing in our vision, you will be investing in the community. We will provide services to the autistic community to assist them in learning how to become valuable in their community. This funding will allow us to do what insurance companies won't pay for. The funding will allow us to not only provide therapy to autistic individuals but to allow us to let them implement and train the individual in real-life situations. This real-life application will assist the individuals in obtaining a greater understanding of behaviors in the community and teaching the community about autism.

Self Identified Competition
ABC - Action Behavior Center Centria Healthcare Empower Therapy Center We are different in our treatment of the person as a whole, and this includes their family. In order for the autistic individual to be successful, they must have a successful support system. Other organizations only focus on the autistic individual. We also believe in real-life application of therapy activities. This will assist the autistic individual with a greater understanding of the need to change their behaviors and how to interact with others outside their home. We also believe the families need some downtime, especially the main caregiver. Our goal is to be able to give this caregiver a break at least once a month to allow them to care for themselves. This will enable them to be a better caregiver to the autistic individual.
