Milin’s Mobile Mechanic | Application Preview
Milin’s Mobile Mechanic is seeking government grants to enhance its operations. The funding will primarily be used to replace the owner's aging 2001 Subaru Outback with a commercial work van, which will also be used for advertising to attract more customers. A garage will be built at home to handle customer vehicles that require extended repairs, moving work from the driveway to a more professional setting.
The business relies heavily on referrals, offering a $10 cash bonus for customers who refer new clients. Additionally, social media advertising and advertisements in local auto parts stores have proven successful and will be continued. Given the limited number of mobile mechanics in the area, the owner plans to maintain the current five-year business strategy focused on referrals and targeted advertising.
The owner’s motivation for starting the business is deeply personal, as it enables his wife to stay home and support their special needs son, especially following the loss of their daughter. His passion for automobiles began at a young age, and he firmly believes that with some financial assistance, the business can thrive.
In terms of competition, Milin’s Mobile Mechanic faces both traditional mechanic shops and a few other mobile mechanics. The business differentiates itself by offering competitive pricing and a commitment to helping customers in difficult financial situations. The owner emphasizes quality work at fair prices while prioritizing customer care and family needs.

Funding Usage
My current work vehicle is a 2001 Subaru Outback, that needs constant work and is completely packed with my tools and supplies. First thing I would do is purchase a commercial work van. Then I would add advertising to the exterior of the van to help create more customer leads. As a mechanic I take pride in my work and I would like my work vehicle to complete the professional look. I would also build a garage at our home to work on customer vehicles that take multiple days to complete. I am currently working on those vehicles in our driveway.

Business Plan
Referrals are a big part of our business and we offer a $10 cash bonus for referrals. We will continue this. Social media advertising has been extremely successful for us so far and we will just keep expanding on that. We advertise at all local parts stores and we will continue with that. So far these avenues have been extremely successful and I don’t see that changing. In our area mobile mechanics are few and far between. Unless things change our 5 year plan will stay the same. Referrals, referral bonuses, online marketing, advertising in local stores related to automobiles. The biggest reason I started this business is so my wife can stay home with our special needs son and help him be able to function in our world. A year and a half ago our daughter with special needs passed away, since then my wife does everything she can for him and our family. I will do everything in my power and with God’s help to make this business grow and be successful. I fell in love with working on cars when I was 15 years old and swapped out the engine on a 1976 Firebird. I know this business model will be successful I just need a little help on the financial side to get there.

Self Identified Competition
Mechanic shops and dealerships There are a couple other mobile mechanics in our area I charge a fair price for labor which is always below everyone else and I try to find the least expensive but still quality parts for each job. If someone is truly in a rough spot financially I will work with them to help get them back on the road. I’m out here to help people, pay my bills and take care of what my family needs.
