Early Byrd Landscaping LLC | Application Preview

Early Byrd Landscaping LLC is seeking government grants to acquire additional equipment that will enhance service quality and expand their offerings. The business plans to grow beyond their immediate community, aiming to take on projects further afield and include services like leveling and grading, which would attract contractors as clients in addition to their usual residential customers.

The applicant outlines personal challenges faced over the past few years, including health issues, financial struggles during the Pandemic, and family changes. Despite these difficulties, they remained focused on their passion for growing the business. Their efforts began by assisting church members with lawn care, which developed into a community-focused business providing professional and affordable services.

In terms of competition, Early Byrd Landscaping faces several small lawn service providers, with the top competitors being Black Creek Lawn Pro, Jo-Co-Mow, and McNeill's Lawn Care. While these competitors offer similar services and have larger teams, Early Byrd Landscaping prides itself on offering superior customer experiences. They differentiate themselves with a professional appearance and tailored service options, emphasized by their commitment to quality and community support. Their motto, "Sunrise to sunset, working for you," reflects their dedication to serving their clients in a meaningful way.

  • Business Plan

I plan to grow the business in a broader range outside of our direct community. I want to be able to maintain business further out of our direct range that is most financially responsible for us at this time. I also want to be able to offer more services that go beyond generic lawn care maintenance. Having additional equipment to complete leveling and grading work will open more opportunities with contractors versus sticking to a residential customer base. Over the past few years, we have endured many challenges within our family. We have battled health concerns, financial constraints from the Pandemic as well as family dynamic changes. Through all of this our main focus was on growth in our business passion and financial affairs. My husband and I are very active with our Church family. They supported us in many ways when we were not sure how we could make ends meet or when we just needed love and support. What started as helping the elder's and families in need at our Church with their lawn care needs, has grown into a business for our community. The business offer's lawn care needs to our customers that is clean, professional and leaves a positive experience for them. I want to be able to grow the business and offer more services to what our customers are looking for. This takes additional equipment and resources we do not currently have. I want to extend our passion into our community and beyond. There has been a great sense of accomplishment and pride when we are able to take care of our customers and friends who cannot complete these tasks for themselves or have limited financial resources where they cannot afford to pay larger companies to take care of things. Our moto is "Sunrise to sunset, working for you!". This is provided in a professional and affordable way to our customers. I am thankful to have the growth we have sustained but am looking to broaden our horizons for the future.

  • Self Identified Competition

In our area there are many small operation lawn service and landscaping companies. However, the top three competitors to us are Black Creek Lawn Pro, Jo-Co-Mow and McNeill's Lawn Care. These businesses do have similar services available to their customers. They also have more hired employee's where we do not have the ability to sustain hiring anyone additional at this time. The services we offer may similar, but we are providing a better customer experience with more options for their lawn care needs. The appearance I have set in place for the business very distinguished compared to our competitors. We wear professional working attire that is free of holes, stains and excessive debris. A professional appearance has set us apart just like our services and customer experiences.
