Crystal Coast Officiants and Wedding Planners | Application Preview

Crystal Coast Officiants and Wedding Planners is seeking government grants to enhance their business operations. The funding will be used to purchase new equipment for content creation, hire an expert to manage and revamp social media platforms, and invest in marketing for wedding shows and online promotion.

Led by CEO Amanda Clevenger, the business has gained recognition, making it to the top three in the local People’s Choice Awards in just three years. Amanda’s journey to building this business is deeply personal; after overcoming a decade-long battle with opioid addiction, she transformed her life following the tragic loss of her brother to an overdose. Inspired by a calling for change, she entered rehabilitation and emerged determined to fulfill her dreams, starting with a wedding officiating service that has now expanded to offer comprehensive wedding planning and content creation.

Crystal Coast’s competitive edge lies in its client-focused approach, providing a range of services without allegiance to a specific venue, setting it apart from competitors. Despite personal challenges, including her mother’s battle with dementia, Amanda remains committed to her vision and the promise she made to her family. Her story reflects resilience and highlights the belief that positive change is possible.

  • Business Plan

Continuing to push planning and content creation packages while branching out services outside the current demographic My name is Amanda Clevenger and I am the CEO of Crystal Coast Officiants and Wedding Planners. This year my three year old business made the top three in our local People’s Choice Awards and we are ever-expanding yearly with hope of making an impact in the wedding industry here in Carteret County. This is a far cry from where I was roughly five years ago. After a decade of living a double life, I surrendered and sought treatment for an opioid addiction that was consuming me: mind, body and soul. Although I was able to maintain a job and even graduate from grad school, I was a full blown addict. Living in the upstairs nook of my parent’s home, unable to afford living alone and providing for my daughter I heard a voice say “this is as good as it will ever get.” That night I packed my bags, and I left for treatment. I attended a six month Christian women’s rehab in Morehead City where I not only surrendered my addiction but I also surrendered my life to the lord. 90 days (to the exact day) into my treatment, I got the call that my only sibling, my little brother had succumbed to an opioid overdose in the very same dark room that I hear the voice tell me that I needed to change my life. I firmly believe that if I would not followed that voice ( a voice I attribute to the Lord) that I would have been the life that was claimed. Right before my brother’s passing I had made the ultimate decision to be baptised. That connection to my creator allowed me to get perspective on my brother’s death. I did not let it defeat or deter me. Instead, I declared then and there that the devil had made a mighty enemy. I was going to live the days that my little brother was not afforded. I buried my sibling and bravely eulogised him, when my father said that he was unable. My 6’4 strong as steel, military father had never uttered those words before to me. I declared boldly during that eulogy, in front of my hero, my father that I was going to live the life of my dreams. I returned to rehab two days later to the shock of everyone. Three months later I graduated and moved my life to the Crystal Coast. I rebuilt my life piece by piece after graduating. Four years ago, I sat in a Women’s Conference featuring prominent business leaders in my community. After buying thefifty dollar ticket, I had four dollars to my name. I sat in that conference, unemployed and with nothing but a dream. I took in everything these women said and I decided to build what started as just as wedding officiating business. In three years, I have officiated for hundreds of couples, I branched into planning and have planned dozens of weddings. I employ four people in my business and we have just expanded to offer content creation. Life hasn’t been perfect since I changed my life and mindset. My 58 year old mother was diagnosed with dementia right after my brother’s passing. Her condition deteriorates daily but wasn’t deteriorate is my promise to God, my daddy and my little brother that I was going to fight for the life of my dreams. I may not be a millionaire, but I am rich. I’m living proof that people are capable of change and that we are so resilient that we may shock ourselves. I’m living proof of the Grace and Glory of God.
