Fletchers Plants | Application Preview
Fletchers Plants is seeking government grants to secure a retail location and cover costs for business expansion. The funding would help the business grow by enabling advertising efforts and potentially hiring one or two employees, allowing for extended operating hours.
Over the next five years, Fletchers Plants plans to establish a retail store featuring a curated selection of exotic plants and potting stations. The presence of a local plant store in Parma, Ohio, would cater to a community of plant enthusiasts, as there are currently no other plant shops nearby.
The competitive landscape includes Lakewood Plant Co, Rocky River Plants, and STUMP, all of which have successfully expanded in recent years with similar business models. However, Fletchers Plants aims to differentiate itself by creating a welcoming atmosphere and focusing on the health of its plants, ensuring they thrive in customers' homes. Feedback from customers suggests that they appreciate the quality of the plants offered, driving their loyalty to the store.

Business Plan
In the next five years Fletchers Plants aim to open a retail location that will house a more selective variety of exotic plants and potting stations. Investors would be able to watch a company grow into a profitable local business that has done research into the community and found a very sought after niche group of "plant people". Parma, Ohio has no other plant stores with the nearest competition 30 mins away. A local plant store would allow a very new business for local residents and plant enthusiasts to shop for something completely new.

Self Identified Competition
I would consider my top three competitors Lakewood Plant Co, Rocky River Plants, and STUMP. All three mentioned competitors have the same business model that have seen expansion n the past two years into multiple stores or locations. Fletchers Plants strives to stand out from other plant stores by having a homey feel and a plant market that allows everyone to own a plant. Once plants are brought into the store they are acclimated and cared for so that they will thrive in their new homes. Customers have told me many times that they return because Fletchers Plants sells healthy plants that do not die or hae problems.
