Statewide Home Inspections ein 20-1844684 | Government Grant Application

Statewide Home Inspections | Application Preview

Statewide Home Inspections is applying for government grants to support its re-opening after being shut down since April 2020. The owner anticipates that restart will feel like launching a new business due to the loss of contacts in the real estate industry. This includes reaching out to agents, loan officers, and attorneys who may have partnered with other home inspectors during the downtime.

The business plan focuses heavily on advertising to reestablish the company’s presence. The strategy involves utilizing online marketing, direct email campaigns, and targeted social media efforts, with customized content for different audiences like real estate agents and attorneys. The owner foresees the need to hire part-time help to gather essential contact information for prospective clients.

The application highlights the need for funding, emphasizing that this is not seeking investors but rather support for revitalization efforts. The competition in New Jersey is fierce, with over 1,000 home inspection companies and many new inspectors offering lower prices, making it challenging to attract clients.

To stand out, the owner focuses on their extensive experience and a sincere approach to client relationships, treating younger buyers with care and respect. This emphasis on experience is framed as a key differentiator in a saturated market.

  • Funding Usage

Being shut down since April of 2020 and anticipating re-opening in April 2021, it will be like starting a new business. After all that time, contacts (real estate agents, loan officers, attorneys, etc.) will have found other home inspectors and Ill have to make connections with new agents, etc.) its going to be as if it was 20 years ago and I'm starting fresh. Its not that it can't be done, it can and since I have done it before, this time should be easier, (I hope).

  • Business Plan

Advertising. Getting the name of the business out there to real estate agents, attorneys. 99% of the advertising will be internet, plus direct email campaigns. The content will differ depending on who (agents, attorneys) is being targeted. There will be facebook campaigns. There will be direct to buyers campaigns. Gathering information publicly available, such as real estate agents names, numbers and email addresses is a huge undertaking in and of itself. I may have to hire someone to work part time just to gather the information actually I'm not looking for investors.

  • Self Identified Competition

there over 1,000 home inspection companies in New Jersey and only so many homes being bought and sold. top three? how about top 500, tons of competition. lots of new inspectors cutting pricing just to get a start, difficult to compete with someone charging half of my fee. when I speak with prospective clients, I alway stress that experience is what makes the difference between the new guy and me. Experience, experience, and more experience. Plus, I honestly treat younger buyers like they could be my own kids, and I truly care and take care of them.
